Recently, my friend just bought a Mac Laptop, which costed him around $1200 with a discounted price. I told him that two of laptops, each one of them cost around $500 when I purchased them from a special sales. So, his Mac can actually equal to both of my laptops. I just wonder why Mac is so expensive, while others are cheaper. I never have a Mac PC before, and would it similar to Linux operating system?

I guess it's coz once you get a MAC, you're assured of quality.Ü That is one reason why people still buy MACs despite it being pricey. A MAC is always a good investment.

I guess that is the main reason too. I couldn't afford it now. I might want to consider purchase a used Mac to experience it myself.

As you can see any OS is different than the others and the reason is its Apple your talking about. Although they are great in design they kinda suck to me cause their programs are jacked up and there are lots of things i do on the internet everyday that Apple computers dont support doing. Plus the raw materials to make it are more cheaper than the price like the 360 and PS3 they just cost so much but when they make it its cheaper than the price u bought it for

About the material they make the laptop. It is one of the important factor that cost Macbooks too much for our own use? I just want to know what kind of material they use.

So mac is more expensive normally because you pay also the big brands btu aso for example because they usally uses some configuration abit more expensive as ssd disk, for example and some others things as optical drives or screen resolution which it should be a bit more expensive compared to the majority of the pc as well!!Surely in many cases these don't jusify the big price but you know mac fan will spend this money and so the apple will continue as so... As regards linux there can be some linked point kust because even the mac os have a unix base...so as linux which it is considered the next generation of the unix os available in the past!!but as regards philosophy apple is the total opposite of linux also because apple is on of the major os which has strong limitation due to the license policy on the contrary linux is an open source os and so have a fre license!!
