Signs of Being Dumb

I went to this store one day and bought a very expensive accessory. After I paid for the said item, I immediately left without taking the item that I came for to that store. The other day, while my sister was eating her breakfast, my mom went over to the dining hall, armed with her ever protective trait and asked her "Did you take your breakfast already?" I'm not sure if all of us has ever experienced being dumb at some point. But have you had any signs of being dumb?

Leaving the store without your purchase was a sign of absentmindedness, not of being dumb. It is usually caused because you have too many things on your mind. Most people use the expression "Where's your sign?" It just means that people talk first before they think. Again it's not a sign of being dumb. I work in retail and people leave their purchases all the time. As for the other... my neighbor came home from the hospital and upon seeing him I stated "you're home from the hospital?" It was meant to be a statement, but it came out like a question. He answered "No I just flew in from Mars." DA...Where's your sign?

i have done so many foolish or dumb things in my life. and that they were so dumb that i will ashamed to reveal or share some of them here online. i will just want to forget the past. and i do still commit some dumb things from time to time but not as bad and as often as i did before. i have learned my lessons and keep those as a lesson not to do them again.

If I was to have an IQ done on myself, I´d say mine is way over the media. But it´s incredible the times in a single day I do dumb things. There are some I have learned over the years and only forget if I´m in a hurry. I have a tendency (VERY DUMB) to put things in an "intelligent" place. I either lose them forever or they appear when I´m looking for something else. So I say to myself "never put things in an intelligent place; leave then where they have always been". I guess things tend to go wrong when you don´t listen to your automatic pilot. The worse everyday things I do is to go looking for something I desperatly need. I climb down the stairs (my knees hurt), look around not seeing anything, put some water for a coffee, go to the bathroom, cuddle the dog, fill the washing machine and come back with my coffee only to remember that I went down for a certain paper or book. %&%$. I happens me EVERYDAY The most intelligent thing I have EVER done in my life has been to accept that I´m dumb. Happy posting. I loved the little prince there. Thanks for that.

I have actually once I've done that before. Like I went into this store and I was buying a card and a present. Paid the lady and left without my present. If the lady from the store hadn't come after me to say that I had forgotten what I paid for I would have been in the parking lot already. But well, thankfully for her.

I have done similar things but it is NOT BEING DUMB! Don't think that! What is happening is your mind gets so caught in action mode that you start racing with what you're doing. For instance, if you are in a hurry tring to get many things accomplished you kind of like go to a crash point. Too many "programs are open and not enough memory" is being displayed. What you do is laugh about it and go back to the store after calling them on the phone to identify yourself and tell them what you did and that you are coming right back to pick up said purchase. Now, for a while about 4 years ago, I was forgetting whether I had taken a shower that day or not! I actually had to kind of make myself a physical reminder such as my terry cloth bathrobe would be my key. If it was wet, then I had taken my shower that day.

Oh I'm sure I've done a few dumb things in my day, but today's story is about my daughter. Last night I did a bunch of school paperwork for the kids. I laid it all out so that I would remember to give it to them this morning. I handed Dearra hers. I had Naomi put hers in her backpack. I took Cary's myself (he has autism, so I give it to him when we get to school, he's more likely to turn it in). We get to the bottom of the diary and Dearra says, "I forgot my paperwork." So I said, "you mean the very paperwork that I put into your hand just 5 minutes ago?" So we laughed as I went back up the driveway so she could get her paperwork which was due that very day. The one kid I didn't think I need to nag... lol

I'm sure this isn't a sign of being dumb, you're just preoccupied with something else. These moments come and go. This one will give you a good laugh. My friend and I went to the gas station, I pulled up to the pump, and he went inside to pay. I turned off the car, but left the music on waiting for him to pay. I fueled, got back in the car (I drive a manuel), released the emergency break and put it in first and went forward. "Zach, oh no, I can't turn! My power steering went out! Ok, let me put it in reverse." Well, needless to say as I was trying to reverse back up to the pump, I wasn't going any where. I had forgotten to turn the car on. I'm all and all an intelligent person, or so I like to consider my self. But after this moment I certainly had my doubts.

Well. I have quite some experience of being dumb. Sometimes my classmates would doubt if I did it on purpose or Am I just that dumb. Well, it's not all the time that we are in our right mind that we tend to do things the right way all the time. There are times that we forget stuffs that we are supposed to do. Still we manage ourselves not to be dumb all the time.

Oh dear! Yes I have had a few...lol....usually 'brain freeze' moments where I knew exactly what I was doing until I got somewhere and then something in the brain malfunctions and all memory leaves! My dear mother once was heard to be yelling for us to come and look because there was a wild boar in the garden. In we rushed thinking 'where an earth would WILD BOAR come from around here???!' It turned out to be a hedgehog. Best I say no more, eh?

Doing dumb things is a sign of being human. Doing dumb things and never realizing they are dumb is more a sign of being dumb. If you are not doing dumb things every once in a while then you are probably not doing enough. I've paid for food and left without the food, tried to drive away from the gas station while the gas nozzle was still in my car, looked at my keys on the kitchen table while I left my apartment (with a door that automatically locks behind me) - I could go on with many more examples. I don't think I'm dumb, I just do dumb things sometimes.

Yes, it happened to me. I was abroad on vacation and I went to restaurant, sat down, perused the menu, didn't like it and left. I also left my shopping bags which I spent the whole day buying! I only realized that I left them when I was at the hotel! Fortunately, my bags were kept safe by a waitress there. Although she was none to happy that I didn't have dinner there :-)

Oh yes I was parallel parking my car in a tight spot on a hot summer day by the beach. I asked my boyfriend to get out of the car and direct me since I don't do it often and my car is new. He said something to me, I couldn't hear, so I went to stick my head out the window. Smack! It was closed. I shut it just as we pulled up to the space. He still makes fun of me for it.

Yeah, sometimes I become forgetful and do something dumb like that. Like when I already put my phone in bag but started wreaking the house searching for it. Or everytime I misplaced my keys. I need to put them in place or I may started looking for them. I think this is the sign of aging Face it! We can't do anything about it!

hahahahaha, that happens to me too. i once went into a department store and bought socks for my sons as school was about to open a week after that. two days after, i was looking for the socks. my daughter could only tell me that i was the one paying at the cashier's counter and no nothing about it. good i had recovered the item as the store staff kept them for the owner to claim. is this a sign of aging? hahaha, i hate to admit it ... but we all grow older, don't we?

Here is another dumb thing I have done. I made coffee for myself one morning. Went to get the cream and pour it into my coffee except I couldn't find my coffee. I had no idea where it was. It turns out, I was holding the coffee while I was getting the cream, and I place the coffee in the refridgerator. On the same lines...I have poured the sugar for my coffee into the cream in the carton. That did not work out too well.
