Hi paul.
I said I believe in the Bible because IT IS MY FAITH. I said, I think, it CAN answer all the questions you can possibly have because that is how I see the Bible. I do not see the Bible as a how-to book that teaches us how to fix the car, how to cook delicious meals and all that.
What I know is, I am here to share what I believe, my faith, and I don't intend to change other people's opinion about my faith. When you asked to me tell you what happened to the prophet was kind of annoying because I am not here to flaunt you with what I know of the Bible. I am not a scholar of Bible so I cannot answer your question.
Are we here to dissect the Bible?

yes. All people should believe in it because it is the word of God. The Bible is like God's love letter to us. God loves us and wants us to be saved and be one with Him. His eternal plan is written in the Bible. You need to read it and enjoy it.

I did read the Bible long long time ago especially every retreat. 
But to be honest, i don't have a chance this magnificent book right now. Though i have subscribed to Arca Max Bible Verses and Billy Graham's advices on life to keep my spiritual self stimulated. I believe in the book because i believe in Him. The scriptures inside is very good that i think a special being is required to make those scriptures. The book has lots of stories, verses and lessons to tell us. So i believe that someone superior than us made it.

If you have an Old telephone directory which can give you correct numbers don't you keep that telephone directory safe.In the same way when a book can read your life and can guide you in a correct path cant you believe that book.
You dont say sun is very old hence it is very cold.Truth is sun is very hot and becoming hotter day by day.
In the same way though Bible is Old it is the most sold and commented book in the world.
And many historical facts are exactly coinciding with the Bible.God is perfect hence he has given us this wonderful gift.
