If you can... then you are one lucky person... seems that i can only sleep in my own home on my own bed... Right now... i am at my parents' home... the place where is spent most of my life... where everybody is asleep except for me... i am so sleepy... but when i try to lay down and close my eyes... i can't sleep... I want my bed... my pillows... my blanket... the smell of my apartment... the quiet... my own space... etc... etc...etc... Has this ever happend to you?... or are you the type of person who can sleep anywhere you want to?...

This might sound different but, it kind'a happened to me in reverse. When my relatives came over to visit, they invited us all to stay with them in a hotel room since from there, it would be more easier to go to the places that they want to since it was within the metro unlike our house which usually takes an hour and a half to two hours just to get to the city. We stayed there for mostly a week and enjoyed it quite much but, after saying farewell and returning home, I felt our house was different. Being away from my own house for a long time got me feeling that it was entirely different. I felt that I need to be oriented again with my own house. That includes sleeping as well. My body seemed to have accustomed itself with the comforts of the past week. That has been a long time so I have now grown accustomed again with our own house. Well, to go back to your question, my answer would be yes, I can sleep anywhere. Actually, at home, I don't have my own room. I get to sleep sometimes at different rooms. We only have two bedrooms and my folks has one of them so the other one is mostly for anyone who gets to sleep there first. In some cases, I get to sleep at a couch in our living room. I have also slept at a different house before and also when I went to a summer camp. Camp was about a month so I really felt different when I got back home. Anyway, I can sleep anywhere but, the consequence would be the unpredictable feeling after. Sometimes I feel okay after sleeping and at other times, my back hurts. I guess that's why we should really get our own bed to be accustomed and would be more beneficial for our own well being. (-_-")

I think that is mainly because you don't have your own room or even your own bed... and for sure if you have any one of these two... things would be different... i remember when i got home from working abroad for two years... i immediately fell asleep when i got to sleep in my own bed using my own pillows (i specifically told my mother never to get rid of any of them)... i really think you should have your own bed... that is one comfort all of us should be able to enjoy... Thanks for the response...

Bed - Uratex Foam - One of the leading foam manufacturers in Southeast Asia, the RGC Foam Group is also the largest manufacturer and marketer of full-range automotive and commercial polyurethane foam products in the country. Its incomparable success and proven expertise are founded on three decades of growth and experience in the industry.
I guess your right though, it does mean that I'd have to have my own room first before I'd ge my own bed. Unfortunately at the moment, we don't have an extra room so I guess I'd just get one of those hammocks that you can buy around and its easy to set up I guess.. then again, I'd still have to look for anything to tie both ends to.. yeah, I think a bed would really make a difference.. (-_- ) Perhaps I'd try Uratex, just enough for my size and lay it out somewhere at home when I have to sleep. I don't need my own room for now.. just a bed where I can get accustomed to and be comfortable with each time I wake up..

Or you can buy those beds that can easily be folded... you can just put it under a chair so that it won't take a lot of space in your home... the uratex bed is very nice... i just bought one a few months ago... it is not the same with those foams that but a little more expensive...

I can sleep anywhere. When i go to my native place i can't sleep there as the climate is very hot sometimes the power supply goes also there are lots of mosquitoes biting in the middle of the night.I also once went to a camp and i could sleep there peacefully only the mornings were chilled over there.I too love to sleep on my bed as it is very comfortable and spacious.

It is very difficult to sleep especially when there are lot of mosquitos around... they usually make buzz sounds that are very irritating... i don't mind it if it is hot... i am quite use to that... Thanks for the response...

Hmmm. I think I can.. hehehe. I'm still trying to remember all the times when I had to sleep on somebody else's bed.. Well, I never had any problems, except when I get crazy and think creepy thoughts, that's when I really can't sleep, even in my own bed. What if you're out of town or something, and you're in a hotel, how do you manage to sleep then?

Thanks for the response...

Hello Aseretdd, For me, I could not sleep well in others bed. I just love all the stuff I have on my bed, that includes my pillows, blanket and my favorite bed room color. I have pink color walls in my bed room, it is so sweet color and I think it does make me feel comfortable to sleep in my bedroom. For vacation, I only feel comfortable to sleep in clean hotels. I don't like hotels that is too old and without good amenities in the room. Sometimes I will go crazy to bring my own pillows for short vacation in local destination. LOL. But my hubs have teach me a good way to have a good sleep in the hotel. He uses his shirts as a pillow case and cover on the hotel pillow. In this way I could have a better sleep too!

Hello again, Glad to hear that you like my idea! Do try it out in your upcoming vacation. With your own shirt as a pillow case, you will get some familiar smell , and from there you can have a better sleep even you are away from your home. Happy Mylotting!

Hello aseretdd Good question, Well for me I have no problem sleeping at my moms or 1 or 2 friends house over night mainly 1 friend but yes I am more comfortable in my own bed for sure, now ask me about the people that can sleep on the bus or the train, wow that always amaze me, I look at them like how can they do this I mean fall into a deep sleep where they are leaning on the person next to them, one day this guy was leaning toward my grandson it was so funny because my grand baby was mad, I told him he is tired he does not mean any harm but my baby was not hearing that so I moved his seat so my mom and 1 friend in particular no problem anywhere else its not easy for me to rest my eyes.

Last week, there was this guy on the bus that was actually snoring very loud... and i wonder why can't i do that (sleep on the bus)... i go to the city twice a week and the travel is like 1 hr and 30 mins... and more depending on how heavy the traffic is... i so envy those who can sleep while traveling... Thanks for the response...

Maybe that is one reason why i can't sleep while traveling... i always worry that i might miss my stop... even if i am sure the bus conductor would wake me up... but the case is different why traveling on a plane for 12 or 24 hours... there is no such thing as missing a stop there... but i still couldn't sleep a wink... You have a very sweet grandson... he really care for you...

Hello aseretdd Do you really envy them? I don't I know me when I sleep I fall into a deep sleep, sleeping on the bus and train is something that will not look right on me, one day I was not feeling well so I was kind of leaning ( just doing things I would not normally do) my grandson knowing how I am picked up on the fact that something was wrong he said grandma are you o.k ( his mom was with us) I said I will be o.k sweety, few minutes later he said we are almost there o.k I said alright I will be o.k, so just the little things I was doing at that time surprised him and made him feel the need to take care of me( he was 6 at the time) imagine if he saw me sleeping he would go nuts, he does not like this lol so since this would be totally out of the norm for me, I can't see myself doing this. I understand what you mean that hour and a half of sleep could do wonders for you, but happens if you missed your stop? this is what I think about lol

I wonder why we have this so called "namamahay" thingy... can be very difficult especially if our work entails us to travel a lot... but in my case... even if i have been absent for a long time... when i get to use my own bed... i would be asleep in no time... Thanks for the response...

thankfully i can sleep anywhere i want to. i love to travel and that means sleeping in hotels. if i can only sleep in my own bed, i think i won't be able to visit any other country. that will be really sad for me. i can also sleep on public transport, in a car and even on the floor. however, that is only when i am really tired.

My back needs to lay on my bed, in my sheet, in my pillow and with my blanket. I find it hard to sleep when it is not my home and my bed. I need to find a most suitable position in case i would be sleeping in someones bed or somewhere else to be able to sleep.

Well, most of the time... there is no suitable position... and that would really be frustrating... and laying there for a long time without sleep will make our back hurt like there is no tomorrow... Thanks for the response...

I can generally sleep nearly anywhere... but not in any situation. For example. I can sleep down stairs on the couch. But I can not sleep with the TV on ever. If that TV is turned on, I'll be up 24 hours straight until I turn it off. Things like that prevent me from sleeping. I generally have to have a fan or some low sound to drown out a radio that's on across the street if I have the window open.

So you like it a little quiet... and the tv being on would certainly distract you if you want to sleep... i myself cannot sleep when the tv is turned on... or even when i can hear it from another room... i would then have to tell my brother to the the volume down... Thanks for the response...

Years ago I picked up the habit of falling asleep with the television on. Now, I have difficulty falling asleep without it, so if I'm staying somewhere there's no TV, I usually toss and turn most of the night. My husband is one of those lucky people who can fall asleep anywhere in just a minute or two. He comes home from golfing, sits down in front of the TV to watch more golf, and is snoring in the time it takes Tiger Woods to tee off.

I never went golfing so i don't really know physically demanding it is... it looks easy to do... but i am sure that sport entails a lot of skill and training... i can't sleep when the tv is on... since i tend to concentrate on what i am watching and i don't want to miss any important dialogue or scene... Thanks for the response... welcome to mylot and i hope you enjoy every minute of your stay here...

Interesting discussion! As far as I go, I really have a hard time sleeping and it might depend on place. Surprisingly enough I don't feel like my bed is such a comfortable place to sleep at. Sometimes I prefer to hit the sofa or any other unusual place.

Wow... that is something new... a person who prefers the couch rather than the bed... well maybe your couch is a lot softer and cushier... well, i like my bed more when it comes to sleeping... but if i have no choice... a sofa will be fine... but for sure i won't be able to sleep... i sleep best in my own bed and sometimes i fall asleep sitting in my comfy chair in my living room but it is more like dozing off than actually sleeping. i have trouble sleeping when we are in hotels as it just does not feel like home to me.

I guess it's always that way when you sleep somewhere that you haven't for a long time... I've gotten used to it though, the way the economy is! I've been going from house to house, sleeping on couches, floors, really comfy beds, and sometimes don't even have covers. But, I've gotten used to it. I could go to sleep on a sidewalk now if I really needed to!
