My three year old daughter is IMMITATING me

Philippines

It's very funny to see my daughter immitating me. She would wear my high-heeled shoes, petend to put on a makeup, get a bag and pretend that she is going to work. Yesterday, she again had some "immitating" moments. It was very cute and funny to see using my cellphone as if calling to her "husband" and she was reminding her "husband" to take care of the baby. .. . It gives me some joy to see my little girl doing what I do.

That's wonderful! I love it when kids engage in pretend play. Besides being so healthy for their mental and emotional health, it's just so darn cute! You'll find that as she gets older, she'll start adding her own lines to the script and you'll wonder where she got that from - hee hee!! How adorable to see your little one be just like mommy!

I totally agree, I think that is so adorable! I can't wait to have a daughter so that she can imitate me if she wants. :-)

It is alot of time very entertaining to sit and watch the little ones. It is very funny to see what all they really take in. It sounds like she really looks up to you.

It's really very entertaining. In fact, right now, she is wearing my high-heled shoes again and pretending that she is going to work...

We have three grown daughters and it was a joy to watch them grow up and copy some of my mannerisms and habits. I can just imagine how much fun you are having. Before long she will be grown up and gone.

That empty house comes soon enough. There were times when our kids were small that I wished it was quiet in the house. Now they are all on their own and it can be too quiet at times. Just my hubby, dog and myself here now. Glad you are enjoying your little girl. They are just too sweet.

My daughter is 2 1/2 and she does that sometimes as well. Most of the time it is cute, but there are those moments when I am annoyed at something that her imitating me is not so cute to me.

Hi dear! It sound quite amusing and funny that your little daughter is immitating you. It looks very cute and nice when little ones copy us. They do it in their own style and it makes us laugh seeing their innocence. Keep enjoying those moments and try to record those moments, if you can, in your camera/handicam/mobile phone.

It is really nice to read about your daughter. I like to be with kids and I enjoy the time playign with them. This morning, I went to my colleague's house and spent some tiem with her daughter who is one and half years old. She is also a cute girl like your daughter. We forget ourselves beign with kids and change to the mind of kids when we are with them.

That's so cute. You are lucky you have your own "mini me." If I were you I would feel very flattered to be such an important part of your child's life. It's just one other characteristic of children that admire their parents.

This is really very funny though I have my nieces who are like this and one is only three years old and when he will call her dad she will make as if there is not network so she will walk a bit like we do to get a clear voice, and she will wear my high heels too and when I brush my hair she will tell me to do the same with her though, she is really funny and we all laugh when she will dance in secret like we do and then she says to the other that her mother dances like this and her dad will hold her.

Don't be envious .. .. you will certainly have your time. .. I waited four years for my little girl. . .. She is such a blessing to us. . .. Now that I have a child, I am no longer asking for more but if I will still be blessed with one more child, the better. . . Just have faith in God, you will surely be given one.

hi, I know it is very funny and cute when you see your daughter pretend as you do, I too remember when my daughter used to do so, I enjoyed all that fun and still enjoying now, as my daughter is 5 years old. Some of those moments I captured in my camera. I see the photographs whenever I remember that cute moments. How ever childhood comes in every one's life, I sometimes think how nice it would be if I was a child, a life with out any resposiblities. Isn't it? What do you think?

Hi dorisday, Yes you are correct. It is very beutifull and cute to see such kind of behavious from our child. My child is just 6 months old. I am curiously expecting such kind of pretend from my daughter too. It is really happy day for me when it happens.

Yes, I do believe kids imitate what they see from the people around them. My 3 y/o does the same. She sees me put on make up before I go to work, so she often goes through my stuff when I'm home, and also put on make up. The most surprising was when I saw her sitting on the kitchen sink washing dishes. A chair was propped up beside the sink and that's how I figured she got up on the sink. And she was soaping up the dishes and rinsing them after. I was watching her for a while wondering where she picked this up. I was very awed.

That is just so cute... i also have a three year old daughter... and she has been immitating me working on the laptop for quite sometime now... she even made her own pretend laptop with some of her toys... and there are times that she would also put lotion on her arms and legs... and would try to dance like me every time we hear the opening song of Friends... Kids are really beautiful and funny to be with...

very cute... Yeah kids will do that, if they have an elder brother/sister they will imitate them or else they imitate the parents.... its the phase she is going through, just enjoy, soon she will get tired of it and will try something else....

I know the feeling. What's funny though was that it was my son who used to imitate me when he was still small LOL My sisters-in-law were visiting one day and heard someone moving around in the bedroom. There were "tok, tok, tok" sounds of walking. When they peeked in, my three-year-old boy was walking around holding my hairbrush and wearing a pair of my high-heeled shoes! He's 15 years old now and very much a male, thank goodness :p I have a photo of him wearing those high heels and we always have a good laugh when we see that :)

That's a site i would always want to see. It's just soo cute! In our country, we have this commercial about corned beef and the child likewise is imitating his daddy. It was really a best seller and it also has a jingle with a lyric that goes like this: "Dom-bi-dom-bi-dom-bi-dom-bi walk like a man, act like a man, dress like a man, Dom-bi-dom-bi-dom-bi-dom-bi". haha! It brings smile to my face whenever i think of it.
