I had stage fear for a long time.. it was next to impossible to get me on to the stage..my class teacher at school was once really impressed wen she heard me singing alone in the classroom.. she was adamant to get me on to the stage..counselled me, trashed me and finally gave up on me? i felt bad but cudnt help. when i joined college, i dunno how come i cud gathered courage to get on to the stage... the first time i was Sh*tting bricks in my pants.. but wen i got down i was feeling alrite.. i wanted to go again.. so i went on the stage and then i felt good.. i went again... thats it.. i eliminated the stage fear in me forever... If any of u has stage fear..trust me its very easy to deal with.. its all abt getting there once...

hi cryhapytears! i had that too! but i was trained to overcome it slowly, first with the group then myself. it was an awesome experience. the fear that i had was like drum beat. i even stuttered when i spoke on stage. thanks to my family and friends who were very supportive. it made me easy to deal with the crowd. but am not saying it's not going to happen again. at least, i know now how to handle it. I've been having a lot of stage fright lately. This is because I'm not confident in singing even though I love to do it. Once, I had the courage to audition for a school musical but I got nervous once I opened my mouth. My voice started shaking and the director just shook his head. I was really scarred by that but I will keep on trying until I get it right.

may be shud try try singing with eyes closed. i tried this and it helped. but again after closing ur eyes, u need to free ur mind and only concentrate on wat u want to do. its very simple. u jus need to ask ur head to shutup and let u start singing.

hi, i get stage fright...omg..my face gets sooo red and my words start to studdddderrr and i lose thoughts of the materials that i need to present!!! And the strange thing is everytime i finish and sit back down, i always think im an idiot ********everything starts to come back (just hate that feeling)*********** anyways, like you, im trying to deal with it...and i agree that the more presentation i do the better i become of presenting...hoorraayyy..!!!

hi accountingcpa! thats the spirit..and never underestimate urself. wen u have a feeling u cudnt do good, jus look around there will be a lots of people who are nervous and did bad.. and then look at the people who impressed everyone. ask urself where shud u belong. self-motivation is important to overcome any fears one has. Tip: if u want to sound confident then try speaking aloud.. i mean dont shout.. but yea speaking loudly tends to build ur confidence. ur voice speaks over ur fears and u hear urself clearly.

I don't have stage fear now. I used to have before. When I was in nursery school there was a function at church. My Dad gave my name for solo. He helped me to practice the song and I was already to present it. When I went to church I was too scared to face the crowd. So, I didn't sing the song even though they announced my name. My sister sang her song confidently.

I used to have stage fear until my engineering. Then in my engineering I have joined in a college club where we have competitions on various issues and it is at this place that stage fear left me and I am happy for that.Of course I still feel some nervousness when i address a gathering but its not stage fear....

Used to. There were initial fears, I grant you. Then, once you have to do the presentation, it well off pretty well. You will lose the stage fright and be in control of the presentation. So, never fear. Practice makes perfect.

My advice to anyone who experiences stage fear is to just think about what it is that is the reason they are on stage for whether it's acting or singing and just get into thinking about that particular subject. I feel if I have everything in my mind for whenever I went on stage I was ok.

I don't really get stage fear at all - I feel excited and nervous but not afraid, I've never had that thing where I am paralyzed by it, although I have lost my lines a couple of times, but that happens to the best of us! I have the opposite problem, I am shy off stage, I am afraid of talking to people and find it much harder to talk as myself in front of 5 people than to perform onstage in front of 500!

i had been to the stage several times in the past when i was in my elementary and high school years. during class presentation and school programs, without any hesitation and fear, we do any activity on stage in front of the public. i do not know this time. i just don't have the chance and opportunity to be on stage. if that happens, i am sure i will have feelings of fear and anxiety... lol the actors and actresses must have also undergone this feeling the first time they went on stage. and now, i'm sure they have overcome such. after all, isn't there always a "first time"?

In grade school I was in a lot of school plays. At first the thought of everyone staring at me was nearly paralyzing. If I focused beyond the crowd and pretended that it was only a few people, it became less of a torture. Soon I came to thrive on the attention . In some ways I think it was a good way to get over the great shyness i often felt as a child.

Yes i had.I was still 10 years old when i declared on stage and i forgot a line on my piece. And it was so embarrassing! For me it was a mean of phobia...But years later, i started to feel my singing talent and force to join contest for me to earn a consolation price.(lol) But mind you, i won the first price. Thus, this was the beginning that i condemn "stage fear".But now, i still have a little bit.
