When traveling by plane in US...........................

What things should I beware of? I mean when I pack for a US trip what things can I pack and what things can't i? Do I really have to have containers of perfumes and shampoos and lotions that are no more than two ounces? I am planning on just taking like a sport or gym bag size for my clothing and my laptop and the carrying case. Also my purse. That is it. The gym bag will have my clothes which is casual t-shirts and jeans and undies, bathroom articles and toiletries. But I am concerned about prescriptions. Should they only be in the RX bottle or? And, what about make-ups, lotions, and shampoos and conditioners? Do they all have to be in TWO OUNCE containers. I use expensive stuff and it seems ludicrous to me to only be able to take such a small amount. I am not in a situation where i can send them ahead or anything either. What do I do? Does it take a long time for you to go through the line to have all this checked? And, do I have to check in with my ticket ahead of time. What is all that about? I have not flown for probably 25-30 years. Yes, REALLY! So I am totally in the dark. I want very much to be prepared. What traspires? What do they expect from you so I don't have to be in the process all day? HELP! I am a bit nervous about it because it has been so long and I want to be sure I am prepared and have my things prepared correctly so I won't be a problem to them and they won't be a problem to me and my experience after so long. Your help is much appreciated.

Ofcource we need to have all our things with us safe like paasport, visa and other important stuffs... Getting healthy nice foods is rare when comparing to india i guess.. Arrange a indian home made in US... Also don't take so many stuffs with u like perfume and costumes.. Get from there to use... Mobile and contact informations must to have with you.If u know someone is United States take all those info's and keep with u ...' maintain notes whatever u do ..be prepared for evrything

Hey celticeagle! Last time I flew I had a few issues with makeup/lotions. If you pack them in the bag you check..it's no big deal. But if you carry on..then it has to be in clear plastic bottles..the 2 ounce ones. Oh..and they need to be put in a plastic zip lock bag too. They had a garbage can there full of makeup and lotions that they made people throw away before boarding. If I were you, I'd just put my stuff in the checked bag so you don't have to worry about it. Dress comfey too. Shoes that are easy to take off. They made us take our shoes off and send them through the x-ray machine too. I'd suggest getting there about an hour and a half before time to board. It can take a while if there are a lot of people.

I would go with two ouncers to be on the safe side. It may be 4 but I would hate to chance it. There may be some more info on the airport's website too.

I sugjest all your liquids go in your bag you are checking at the airport not in a carry on bag. I ended up having to throw away all my shampoo and that sort of stuff. Thought i was being smart , not wanting it to accidentally open up in my check bag and get all over my clothes. So next time I travel i will seal my liquids in ziplock type bags in my checked bag.
