I am planning to resign effective immediately. I do not have any medical condition, its just that my present job does not provide me career growth. And if I will be hired on another company, I want to resign effective immediately. Can you give me some valid and good reasons?

If I am you, I would only resign when their is a guarantee that the company whom you apply would hire you immediately. Then, giving you ample times to prepare your resignation and other papers for release. You have to finish first any obligation remaining in your current company before thinking of resigning. But in times of recession, where almost everyone is rushing to get a job..You are acting on the opposite. It is a risk now days to resign when you are not sure where would you exactly fit.

I am very much aware of that, especially I worked on a BPO industry. Although nobody wants to be on the same position for years. My performance meets the expectations of the clients. And as well, I studied graduate school to get the position I want. I had applied many times as well. But the company does not recognize the qualifications that their employees had and always hires someone for the external. I do not think it is wise to stay on a company that you think you will be stagnant and will not give you career growth no matter how long you have stayed.

Fist I would be sure that i have the new job. But its still good form to give some sort of notice. 2 weeks is the norm but even 1 would be something. I would not rush to burn any bridges in this economy and doing the right thing can mean the difference between a good and bad reference.
