When I am trying to read something that is boring, I fall asleep. But when I am reading something that I am really interested in, I can't stop turning the pages. If I have to read a book for school, then I will usually read it in small pprtions and take frequent breaks. That way, I can keep my mind fresh.

I know the feelin'. I am trying to "get into" my chemistry book right now. It just isn't working. The only thing I can do is read one section at a time, and then do the questions. After that, I take a small break. Then I go on to the next section. I know this method doesn't work for everyone because not everybody has the schedule that I do. I have a 5 month old son, and I can study while he is napping, and take breaks while he is awake.

i enjoy reading in bed. i find it very relaxing and calming. it does put me to sleep to. so i read in bed when i cant go to sleep, and i eventually go to sleep. i think it is a good and fun habit for insomniacs.

okay...you yourself admitted about the bed. yes books can be boring but then how desperate you are to finish the book also makes the difference. being too comfortable is never good for reading books. try changing your location, don't read in your bedroom. sometimes reading outside also helps.
