Well Obama's regulatory Czar believes so! Meet the regulatory Czar, the new nut job of the week for are going to get paid six figures to advise Obama, Cass Sunsten. Where does Obama find these people? Van Jones, John Holden, now Cass Sunsten. In 2004 in the book Animal Rights: Current Debates and New Directions Cass Sunsten writes this passage; My simplest suggestion is that private citizens should be given the right to bring suit to prevent animals from being treated in a way that violates current law. I offer a recommendation that is theoretically modest but that should do a lot of practical good: Laws designed to protect animals against cruelty and abuse should be amended or interpreted to give a private cause of action against those who violate them, so as to allow private people to supplement the efforts of public prosecutors. Somewhat more broadly, I will suggest that animals should be permitted to bring suit, with human beings as their representatives, to prevent violations of current law.

Having read the passage, here's my thoughts on it. I think that if a person is intentionally cruel or abusive to their pets then there should be a way for the person to be sued. Let's look at the Micheal Vick saga. He knowing engaged in dog fighting, leading to countless injuries and deaths to the dogs. Even the dogs that survived have had to go through rigorous training before they could adjust to ppl around them. Now Micheal Vick went to prison, everybody says he paid his debt. But if he was sued on behalf of his actions towards these pets, I think it would go a lot further in how ppl treat their pets in the future. The money from the suit could be used to help re-train the dogs that survived and provide for their care. It would also hit Micheal Vick where it counts...in his wallet. I don't think that every cat that is de-clawed or ever dog that has it's tail clipped should sue but I do think there are cases where it might be warranted. This of course means that Comrade 0bama and his assorted collection of fruits and nuts actually think they can talk to animals. How else would they know that the animal wants to sue? Man has dominion over the animals and earth. Animals have o rights, but some of them sure do taste good. Comrade 0bama and company, and the rest of the libturds are delusional... and they should all be locked up for their own protection. Since they also believe in population control, abortion, and rationing of healthcare... I further think that most likely they would be best served by some end of like counseling and a lethal cocktail. After all, that is their plan for the rest of us.

It's all about the lawyers. Just another way to get settlement. If I see you abuse your dog, I can report you and the SPCA may come to your door and issue a fee. In the future, if i report you for abusing your dog, a lawyer will show up to your door and ask if he can represent you in your defense against your dog. If that regulation passes, the prosecutors wouldn't be the ones to gain, it would be the animal protection lawyers. After all, they are so concerned for those helpless animals that they're willing to change the laws.
