Campus College, or online?

I am beginning my online college on Wednesday. I am really excited that I am going back to school. I had my daughter at the age of twenty, and I am going to be twenty-two this year. So I thought I better do it now before I lose my motivation. I thought about going to a campus college, but with my schedule, it would not have been possible. I have to be able to work, plus be home with my daughter, and although my husband is laid off he may have work soon. This way I am able to do the schooling on my terms. I am going for secondary education focusing on english and psychology. I am doing a 3-4 year degree in a year and a half. Of course I already checked into the transferring of credits, and if the school was accredited. I am really glad I have made the descion to go back. I had a lot of help with an advisor with the online school, and was able to recieve some great financial aid. I think anyone thinking that they can't go back to school because of their finances should put that aside. I didn't think I would be able to go back because of our finances but I was able to recieve a scholarship from the school and grants from the government. Overall I am happy with my choice to go to online schooling instead of a college campus. Are you thinking about going back to school? Which would you prefer college campus, or online classes? Is anyone doing any type of schooling now whether online or campus?

Congratulations on your decision to go back to school. I hope you have a wonderful experience. I am just starting my final year in college, all done online from home. It has been quite an adverture, and very challenging at times. I was more than twice your age when I started this degree, and scared stiff! Now am I just one short year from completing it. I wish you all the best with your studies. Never give up hope, and never stop trying.

I am so happy for you - congratulations and good luck! I think you made a great decision! My dad always told me - they can steal your car, steal your money, your house could burn down - but they can never take away your education - it will always be there for you! I too want to go back to school - unfortunately, I want to go into cosmetology and it requires hands-on work, so online classes may be part of it, but not much. P.S. I am a former high school (secondary education) English teacher - did it for 6 years - and LOVED it! Not good pay, but very fulfilling! I quit because I started when I was 22 and my students weren't much younger than me - I felt like I had to grow up fast and kinda missed out on doing things other people in their 20s were doing - but I was single and unattached - you'll probably be great at it and love it!
