Laws come and go but we have had some wacky ones come and go and some have stayed. For instance, did you know that in New Jersey (and Oregon) it is illegal for a driver to pump their own gas. This law was put into place because back in the day, the state governments were scared to let average drivers handle flammable materials: gas. So, to this day, in New Jersey and Oregon, you must let a professional pump your gas. So what kind of degree must one have to be a professional pumper??? BTW, I recently experienced that in Oregon. Didn't think twice of it and thought they were just being courteous. Dang, I forgot to tip the guy. Can you think of any other wacky and outdated laws? Here's a cool one: An anti-crime law in Texas requires criminals to give their victims notice, oral or written, 24 hours in advance of the the crime they're planning to commit and the nature of that crime. It seems unlikely that someone who is already planning to break one law would follow this law and actually put pen to paper: "Dear Karen, I'm planning to break into your house and steal your Wii in 24 hours." http://www.digitalcity.com/2009/09/10/wacky-laws-19-through-24/

Can you imagine going to city hall and asking for that hunting license? A little embarrassing, I would say.

Hey I grew up in Jersey and pumping gas was my all time favorite High School job. I never had to be inside, had a great tan in summer and tips where good (especially if I had on my bikini yeah I worked it!) Did you know that in Denver if some one wants to borrow your vacuum it is illegal to let them? Huh?

In your bikini??? lol. Yeah, that must have brought in the tips. That is a great summer job! And that law in Denver is wacked out for sure. Is it illegal to let them borrow the vacuum cleaner or is it illegal to say yes?

It is illegal to say yes! It is so weird and I have no clue why it would be. Jersey has some strange ones like you cannot wave a person to go in front of you while driving.

Sometimes it's not suite with the life, sometimes it's suite. But everybody should live and follow the law. Because sometimes Law has many benefit for us.

Laws are a must and it's a good idea to always stay within the law. But then again . . . don't you think it's a little ridiculous that it's against the law to let your neighbor borrow your vacuum cleaner? I'm just sayin'.

Another dumb Florida law. In the city of Cape Coral it's against the city ordinance to hang your clothes outside on a clothesline. One resident in particular is currently waging war against the city over this issue. She was on our local news not too long ago and so were some of her neighbors who were "offended" by seeing the woman's clotheslines on her property.

Awww, so sad. Maybe she can't afford a dryer. Isn't Florida weather perfect for drying clothes outside. I'm just sayin'.

I live in Florida and I remember watching the news a couple of years ago with a topic on strange laws that used to be around. The one that really stuck to me was the law where you could not take a bath naked. How would they know? Did they go to your house and watch you take a shower? lol. Thats a very funny law.

I know, that is too wacky. I guess, if I knew they could be watching (which has to be against the law), I would shower with my clothes on. What? Too funny!
