A long time back when I first joined mylot I read something'about the rainbow bridge. but it has slipped my memory now, can some of you'enlighten me? I have always felt there had to be a special place in heaven for our feline and canine friends? I cannot now afford to have a pet as it wou ld raise my room rent by 'another hundred dollars which I would not have. but I used'to have a dog and a cat always when we had our own house.

you should not view the pets negatively because i'm sure that even during the time you had a dog you loved it.

I have heard of such a place also but do not recall the name of it either. I think they would go to some kind of heaven also but I am not really sure of it. I would surely hope so.

I'm sure you have gotten this multiple times already but... http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm now, my church says that animals have animal souls and they go directly to heaven, because all the problems animals have in this world are caused by man's fall and even if a dog or other animal is known as "bad" then something man has done has made it that way - for example, breeding for vicious behavior...

ElicBxn thats what I wondered, she did have something besides'physical problems for sure, as she would just sit and stare out the window for hours. if i spoke to her she just grunted then yelled at the poor cat for climbing on things. why she should have known cats love to climb its their nature.

Hi Hatley! Yes, you are right about Rainbow Bridge! That is where our loving pets are waiting for us! I know that my 3 cats are there playing and having a wonderful time together with my dog and they are going to be there happy to see me some day! I miss them all so much! I hope that they are happy on Rainbow Bridge! And I know that they have lots of friends there, maybe even some mylotters pets too! I'm sorry, but I'm crying now thinking about my babies that I lost.

I do believe there is a place like Rainbow Bridge and that is the comforting thing that keeps me going as I fear losing my beloved cat. I am certain that animals have souls; you can see it in their eyes. I showed my little girl a picture of Rainbow Bridge and it was comforting for her to know that there is a beautiful place for our lost pets to go. It's a shame you can't have a pet now Hatley; it sounds a bit rough to raise your rent by that much if you had one...Doesn't seem fair...

Hello my friend How are you feeling? I always thought in the end we will all be together, I could understand if they have their own areas but we can have access to each other if we choose, I am not a fan of dogs so I would not care if I ever see them again I would love to see my kitty again for sure. I think it sad you will have to pay so much for the company of a kitty, elderly people who live alone should have the company of a kitty, why not,my kitty is alot of fun to watch, talk too, laugh at I really think that is unfair. Thanks my friend, good question.

hi kitty I would so love to have my own kitty kat, myfirst' roommate had a black c at and she didnt even love it ,and that' cat would let me pet it for just so long, thenhe would bite me'and claw. I think she had beenreally mean to it, and all because it'loved to climb on high places and she had stuff all over and the cat climbed onto it. well I told her its the nature of cats to climb. she was too self centered to listen. But I shouldnt be too harsh with her as she has since passed away. Her Aunt took the cat so he got a good home after all.

Hello my friend How sad is that good thing someone was able to take the cat in, they are such good company, my daughter and grandson likes to play with him and he bits/scratches I don't like that, I do the rubbing/petting he loves to come for me for that, today I was brushing him he was fine till he decided he wanted to play with the brush his claw seems to have went into my finger I was bleeding grr, not his fault I should have stopped when he lost interest and decided to play, still hurts grrr He is a good kitty, one day my niece was going to feed him had the food in her hand and everything he came to me, I said she has the food lol he is so use to me doing certain things that someone else doing it for him does not phase him lol I really wish you were able to have your own kitty my friend, that makes me sad, when we have people that have pets that don't take good care of them, as you already know this, really sad my friend, at least you have myot right? smoochess mylot is in a class by itself and I love being here, does the mind/body good.

I see someone posted the link to it so I won't post it again. Three years ago I lost my dog and best friend, Petey. It was a devastating time for me and the grief I went through was worse than anything else in the world. The Rainbow Bridge was one of the things that really helped me through...knowing that I will see him again. It not only comforted me but knowing he is there waiting for me took away all those fears I had of dying. I'm not looking forward to it but at least I'm not afraid of it either. The grief fades after time but the love never does. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Hello Hatley. :). I really don't have the slightest idea if there is such place for them. But when I was a little girl, I saw this film entitled, "All Dogs go to Heaven." And there was this one bad dog that has heard about it, so the dog did all sorts of bad things so he won't have to go to heaven, but still ended there. It was quite a funny movie. But I think they will just be fine after this life. I'm pretty sure they will be.
