Warning this is not for everyone but I did have high cholesterol and I only use corn oil when making bread/buns but I use olive oil otherwise and I eat garlic which is no threat for me I love it and eat a clove when I eat a sandwich at lunch plus I take a garlic tab once a day and no medication and my cholesterol has been low every since. My doctor insisted I take medication and all that did was make me unwell so I quit and went to garlic. My doctor doesn't support home remedies or natural alternatives and he wouldn't talk to me at all when I tried to talk to him about garlic so when I had my next appointment he said how wonderful the medication was working and he gave me another perscription which ended up being fed to my shredder. I went back for the test however because I wanted to be sure I was OK and he even gave me the read out. I am doing GREAT using Garlic!!!

I noticed a difference about two weeks after I turned to garlic. I also mentioned it to my husbands doctor one time when I had gone in with him and hubbys doctor just kind of looked down and said, Well garlic is good for you. I have also read that garlic will actually prevent cancer as well. It's powerful that is for sure.

I am due to get mine checked again, it was a little high or borderline high. Higher than it has ever been before, that is for sure. This year a nurse educator told us that she was unable to take the meds for cholesterol and heart, but by eating Cheerios or oatmeal at least once daily her cholesterol and blood pressure both dropped.

I am doing both of those everyday! I was shocked at how fast my numbers went up requiring the meds. I am on a mission to battle these numbers down. Appreciate the response!

My cholesterol was well over 300 the last time I was tested, about 4 years ago. Lipitor was prescribed but it was too expensive for me to continue. I haven't been able to afford a doctor since then but I cut out most of my fat and bad food. The EKG tests involved in my paid clinical study indicate a healthy heart so I guess I'm doing a good job. It runs in my mother's side of the family but there is no heart disease. Mom's doctor gave up trying to lower her cholesterol--she's her ideal weight and very healthy except for the cholesterol numbers. Move as much as you can and cut out the animal fat. I guess it's working for me! I wish I could move more but arthritis and scoliosis makes it very painful. Good luck!

I am baking all my meat and watching the portions. I have cut out all the junk food and am going as natural as possible. It can take a couple of months even with meds to get it down. Heart disease is in my family on both sides. Appreciate the response.
