Original Song vs. Revival Song :)

One of my favorite artist of all time is Michael Jackson. It made my day complete whenever I hear his song being played on the radio. Then, as I opened my television I saw Fall Out Boy singing "Beat It" on MTV. I'm not really a big fan of artists doing revival songs, I always liked the original version. But the band give a little spice on the song making it more edgier thus, making me wanting the song much better. I also like the version of "Smooth Criminal" by Alien Ant Farm. It got nice rock beat into it! I can't deny the fact that there are artists who give nice twist or version of my favorite songs. Are you a fan of artist doing some song remake? Which revival songs do you liked most? and why? :)

The original song will always be better, but some remakes are actually good, unless they butcher the song, like some of the Beatles songs remakes .

I love that version of Fall Out Boy as well! You just can't help but rock to the beat of their revive. There are artists who really make a revive song sound better than the original one. But most of the time, the original songs are better.

Nothing beats the original I think. And I'm also not a fan of revival songs. Though I appreciate some because revival can be more better than the original. Peace! (^_^)

Yeah I agree that nothing betas the original. I really hate it when someone tells a singer to take a song and make it your's. And the singer take the song, same lyrics, but different beat, or rhythm. Just to make someone say "wow this singer is original" ahahaha But there are exemption's for me.

For me there is no one answers, it has to be case by case. Sometimes I like the remake other times I don't. One of the best remakes that I liked was As my guitar Weeps by the Beatles remade by Steavie Ray Vaun ( I also liked his version of Little Wing even though I love Jimi Hendrex )

Hi danitykane! I'm not such a fan of revival songs either until MYMP came to the music world :) I really like their revivals coz they don't twist or change the original melody or tune of the song. Plus, Juris is a great singer! :) So far my favorite from their revivals is "Power of Two". I also like their revival of "If you ask me to".

He is a great pop icon I think. He is very talented no matter what issues have been bombarded to him we cannot deny the fact that he made huge contribution to music around the world. :)
