Hi friends, The festive season in on in India, and like every year its time to buy new clothes! Now I have to acknowledge that my shopping sense is terrible. I don’t have any other word to describe it , lol. Every time i buy a shirt or a trouser for me or my brothers, its been rejected by them straight away. They say that its not the best of color and definitely not good in fittings at all , lol. Don’t get me wrong I do try it in the trial room but I don’t know they just don’t like my choice. So I have made up my mind that i should transfer this responsibility to some one else in my family and iam the one who will pass or reject this time So friend’s r u good in shopping and buying clothes? Cheers, Tutul

I admit that I am not good in buying clothes. In fact, it's terrible because I have little sense of the fashion and colour matching. Besides, I do not like shopping. Most of my clothes are bought with the help of my mother and friends. I buy new clothes once a year, usually one month before Chinese New Year, which is approaching (February next year). For your case, I think it's not a bad idea to pass over the cloth buying responsibility to other members of the family. You could achieve win-win situation by doing so. Happy posting and have a nice day!

Hi cheongy, it’s so nice to see you here! it didn’t occur to me totally that you don’t have much sense of the fashion and color matching. Anyway you don’t have to worry much about this if you try to buy clothes in the fashion outlet. The salesgirls there would give you opinion how to do the matching according to your taste. I think fashion is not that important. We care more whether we feel comfortable and relaxed when putting them on. You are so lucky to have your mom and friends to help you to buy clothes Other than buying my own clothes I do buy for my son and husband as well as my nephew. I didn’t buy for my nephew since he had married few years back Have a nice day!

Hi lkbooi, I am glad to meet you here too! You are right. The comfortableness and suitability should be our prioritized choice when we shop for cloths. Fashion is less important. It's a good suggestion, to consult the sales person on which cloths suit us better! I can see that you are good mum and wife, by taking care of the attire of your husband and son. I think they do not need to worry so much on their apparel shopping. Happy myloting and have nice day!

I would say that I'm definitely not good in buying clothes. I don't really buy new clothes all that often but I get some every now and then. I'll pick up a t shirt from a music festival or something like that. Or I'll see something at a thrift store that I think would look funny to wear so I get it.

Hi tutul, yesterday I had a strange experience. I went shopping. And I am not hard to please. :) However, I am fat at wrong places, so I have to keep reminding myself, this might shrink and get wasted kind of thing. Invariably, I get frustrated with that kind of admonishing by my brain, and end up buying some cloth pieces which are of course much lower in my list of preferences. Yesterday, though, this lady was watching my selection! Each dress that I pulled out she was kind of looking at me - it was embarassing actually. I thought she was wondering how I could think I could squeeze myself into that. I lamely found excuses for picking those pieces. A little later, she picked each one of the pieces I'd pulled out, including the one that I had to leave after trial in the dressing room! And walked to the cash counter. I found it weird, was she trying to play Cindrella's fairy god mother??? Well, I too had finished my shopping by the time. As we walked out she said u have excellent selection, I liked every piece u pulled out! That was a huge compliment! I think I enjoyed shopping for her more than I enjoyed mine.

Shopping is the one thing I'm an expert of! lol. Although I have to admit that I was a fashion victim once when I was like in grade school. As soon as I begin to grow up I have become curious on lots of things and learned to be conscious with myself. Try reading magazines and socialize a lot. Ask other people's suggestions and learn from them. That would keep you updated in the latest trends and all. Surfing the internet for what's in would be a great suggestion, or you could just go to the mall often and observe people carefully with what they wear. That should do the trick :)

i admit i am! (clap, clap, clap). shopping clothes is, i think, the best thing that i am good at.. it would always take me long to choose one particular clothing because i have to consider all things before buying it ... the right fit, color, material and of course, the price! though i also have to admit that i refrain from buying shirts for my sons because what i usually like don't fit their taste. what i do is shop shirts for them when we are together.

Hi tutul, it’s normal that all the people have the habit to wear new clothes to celebrate festive season. Just like you all, we Chinese have such habit too. Other than preparing cookies, decorating house we are busy picking new clothes in the shopping mall It shows that your brothers have rather good taste in clothing I think it’s better for you to bring them together when buying clothes. They then could choose whatever color and fashion they wish. Of course you have to take the trouble and time to accommodate yourself to them when you go shopping. It’s better than they reject to receive all the new clothes Have a nice day and happy posting

I think I have the same problem as you Tutul! I am not good too in buying clothes. My sister always tells me that I am out of fashion. Hehehe. But sometimes, I also don't agree on the clothes she wants me to wear. I think it is because we don't have the same likes in clothings. So what I do, I just go with what I want to wear and buy. As long as I am comfortable, it doesn't look too off, like I look like an old lady, I go for it. It doesn't matter to me, if my sister or friends don't like it. I like it. And that's it. Hehehehe. Cheers!!!!

I'm good at buying clothes that is why my friends or relatives always ask for my opinion on clothes. They always bring me with when they go shopping. I love to read about the latest on fashion, designs, what the celebrities wear etc. Just look what is good in the eye and what fits you well, the right color for you and design always help.

Hi there and smile. I think i can make my family members smile and love the items that i shop for them. They love it because i know how to pick the right colors, style, designs, and most of all the kind of fabric. My father is the most picky member of the family when it comes to clothing but i still manage to meet his criterias. My mother cant, and so my father always trust me when i comes to shopping. Just some person have talents with this hehe. Dont be disappointed or upset when they dont like your taste of fashion. We are different people with different sense of style. Go and get them something else then instead of clothing. Im sure you can already think of gift ideas for them. Happy mylotting and smile always!

I am good at it. I am also very fast at it. So I prove that not all women are slow shoppers. When I enter a shop, I am more like a hawk or an eagle or a "fox" ..ha! I look around and can spot what I like from a distance. All that is needed then is the fitting. Once that is done I am out of there. Another thing about me is either I like it or I dislike it. I never have second thoughts. :) I am glad you know where you stand, when it comes to shopping.Atleast you are self aware. Oh and enjoy rejecting, this time. lol

Hi tutul! There are times that the clothes I choose doesn't fit me right or doesn't compliment my skin tone or features. But I love shopping! There are moments that people liked how I look and how I put an outfit together. For sure you got a nice taste with clothes too, it just that you need to develop your fashion sense. Your festival must be an exciting place to show your new style in dressing up. :) You could do some research about the latest fashion. But remember in mind that you must comfortable with the clothes you wear, something that represent your personality. :)

yes, i think i am good in shopping. hehe :) i could spend hours and hours inside a mall and not get tired. when i shop, i take into consideration a lot of things: 1. garment type- is the cut flattering to my body? 2. color scheme- is the item great for my skin tone? will the color complement the color palette of my wardrobe? 3. wearabilty- is it comfortable? can i still move in it? 4. quality- can i wear it over and over again? will it shrink after 1 wash? 5. aesthetics- is the fabric beautiful? is it appropriate for my age? 6. flexibilty- do i have at least 3 garments in my closet that i can pair it with? 7. originality- is the design unique? or do i have something similar to this already back at home? 8. price- am i getting my money's worth? does it look cheap?

I am the worst shopper ever. I am an impulse buyer and I easily get guilty after buying clothes. At first I feel like I cannot live if can't own a particular dress and then Iget confused and hesitate while paying and when I have finally bought it, I'd wish I hadn't. I dont know why. It is always te scenario and I hate it so much.

I am a very bad shopper. I usually take my kids alongwith me while shopping and I buy their choice of clothes. Very rarely do I pick up clothes of my own choice. Luckily my choice of clothes has not been rejected by anyone at home...

Hi Tutul, I am average in selecting clothes. In past, I was so bad in selection like you but that improve is done due to my younger brother. My younger brother is very good in clothes and men’s article selection. Daily observation in selection, made me average in this task. Now I keep in mind what should consider while selecting clothes and get success most of the time. Most of mistake in selection used to happen regarding fittings but now I keep in mind this to check during selection. Have a nice Day!! Happy Mylotting!!
