If you could turn back time, would you change anything? Why or why not?

I was listening to the song by Aqua entitled "Turn Back Time". One line goes "If only I could turn back time, if only I could say what I still hide". Many times in my life I have regretted making decisions too hastily and sometimes I do wish that I could reset the time and undo whatever I did. Were there ever incidences when you felt like you wanted to change something in the past? Or are you the kind of person that simply moves on?

I used to be someone with a mentality that if only I could turn back time, then it'll be great. But I realized too that if I could do that, then I'll be turn back the clock a whole lot of times, LOL. And still won't be satisfied. Life is not about rewinding, but for moving forward. I will always cherish the memories, bad or good and if it's bad, I would use it for future storage so that in future it won't happen again. If we aren't allowed to regret or make mistakes, we won't appreciate this life as much. Good discussion here..

Thank you :) I've always believed in learning from experiences. Though I try not to commit the same mistakes again, I sometimes end up doing them all over again! Stupid and frustrating. But then I remember a friend of mine who told me that mistakes that you end up doing all over again are simply meant to let your heart learn what it refuses to learn. She had a point actually :)

Aahh!! The typical beauty pageant question:) I always imagine myself on a beauty pageant and being ask by this timeless question, lol! Here's my well-versed answer: ehem, ehem... If I were given that chance, then that would just go to waste coz I wouldn't want to change anything from my past. Everything happens for a purpose and I wouldn't be what I am right now if it weren't for all the things that I've experienced. There may have been a lot of storms then, and I'm telling you, a lot, but it all has helped me develop myself into a mature human being. I am now stronger and wiser because of my past. So, no I wouldn't change anything:) Hehehehe...

Hmmm... Now that you mentioned it, the question does sound beauty pageant-ish! LOL. Yeah, I do agree with you. Everything happens for a reason :) Rough seas make the best sailors after all :)

Why should I turn back time? Hmmm.. For me I don't want to. I am the kind of person that will seize the day it's gone and over. That's why I avoid the circumstances in thinking and mumbling to wasted time and asking heavens to take back time. Whatever and whoever I am now is the product of my yesterday! And who ever makes my yesterday is only me - my sole self! I am not easily blinded by the past I always look forward to what the future will offer! So do the same guys! Seize each second of your life! seize your day! Live! Love and Die! Why die? For unfortunately no one is exempted for this kinf of fate....

If I could turn back time... Then that would be when I was 10 years old, Should have chosen those piano lessons instead of Classical guitar and Violin... Haay... And now I see some 10 year old (or even younger) performing pieces I can't perform within the next two years.. But anyway, Guitar Kicks some butt... And my friends likes to listen to me play the Guitar and Violin as well.. But for the Piano, I maybe level 3 (5 being the highest).. Couldn't stop myself from self learning..

Okay, you made me realize that I regret not practicing my piano playing anymore. There are times when I try to play but I simply can't remember my arpeggios and scales. I can still read notes, but a much slower pace than I did back then. I congratulate you for having the drive to learn by yourself :)

Hi Aixshaonline, If I could change one thing by going back in time I would get myself to keep a journal, and take pictures from when I was younger. That is probably the biggest regret I have of my past, that I have no record of it. I record most of the things I do these days so that in the future I can look back and remember, but yea, I don't have that from the past. I would keep notes and booklets I did with my best friend as well. I ripped them up to clear space in my room and I regretted it instantly. So yea, those are what I would change. I will keep the bigger things, I wouldn't want to change who I have become by changing anything life changing All the best, Dranz

I do agree with you! I have a journal that I had ever since I was in first grade. But sad to say, the pages are blank. I didn't know what to write in it.

Its hard to move on specially if the situation or the place you come from is so important to you. There are times that I want to turn back time and re-do the things I did before. Because we made mistakes that we regret in the end. But most of the time I take it as a challenge and learning experience that these things happen for a reason and we learn from it to be the best person that we can be. A much better version of ourselves. :)

I do believe that obstacles are challenges meant for us to overcome in order to grow. Life is dynamic and everyday is a new day to learn and love life :)

In spite of the boo-boo's that I made in life, I'd still want my life to remain as is. If not for the mistakes that I did, I wouldn't be where I am now, what I have now, who I'm with now and how happy I am now. I learned that things happen for a reason. Some may be bad, some may be neutral but for sure, there's always good reasons. It's just up to you on how you'll discover it.

Hey, If I could go back in time, I would be able to not make the stupid mistakes that I have done in the past which have cost me over $300 of my money and I would have the money right now and could buy something with it. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

When you've made a mistake, you wish you could turn back time and undo the mistake. Many times I wish I can turn back time and undo what I've done and what I've said but of course that is so impossible and all I can do is wish and make sure I don't repeat the mistakes I did. This is what life is all about. It's about making mistakes and learning from them.

Yep, you really have to pray that you don't repeat the mistakes you've done already. It is okay to make mistakes at times. You just have to learn from them :)

If i had a chance to go back to the past, I will correct all the wrong things that Ive done. im sure if I can go back with my past i can already live peacefully and look at the future with no regrets. But I have to accept that things happen in my life has its own reason and just only my own fault. I already accepted that I cannot change my life anymore and just to go on and live.

If given a chance to go back in time, i would just like to try it out and see how it works. Otherwise i have no interest in going back to a stage which i have already lived before. I think living life just the way it goes is more interesting and moreover i love my life, in just the way it is.

If i could do that, i would not change anything on my life, i love it just the way it is, but i wish i could turn back in time just to live again, to enjoy again all that great and bad moments, cause thers only one life and in my point of view there is no life afterlife. It would be awesome! :)
