What was your favorite cartoon as a child?

When I was young, I spent many Saturday mornings in front of the television watching my favorite cartoons. I loved to watch Bugs Bunny. It was so much fun watching that rabbit take on Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam. I also loved watching the Roadrunner. No matter how hard the coyote tried, the roadrunner always outsmarted him. My absolute favorite cartoon had to be Underdog. His love for Sweet Polly Purebread was so adorable. Underdog was such a great hero and a romantic cartoon figure. I wish they would make cartoons like these again. Cartoons now don't seem to have the same wonder and imagination as they did in the past. When you were a child, what was your favorite cartoon and why?

The Flintstones were my favourites closely followed Tom & Jerry As you suggest the cartoons that our children have today are not as nice. They also seem to be so full of violence nowadays too

I watched the same cartoons that you did growing up, guess we are a similar age. I liked Scooby Doo the best of all the cartoons though. The show was just so cool, with the gang going around solving mysteries, being friends, having those adventures and all that fun, riding around in that cool van, the Mystery Machine, yep, loved the show, still do in fact. They make new ones now and again and they're pretty good too.

I hope the cartoons we watched will live on through our children. I'm glad your daughter is enjoying Bugs Bunny just like we did. Thanks for the input!

Hi, I love watching cartoons not only when I was child, but even today I like watching them compared to any serials or other TV shows. I love watching all type of cartoons, and some of my favourites are Tom and Jerry, Mickey and Donald Duck, Alladin, Poppye, Scoobe Do, etc. The list is really long man, and even till date I love watching them and aslo I like reading comics books. This is a really fun man, I guess the perfect way to relax your self and forget about the tensions.

Maybe we should get rid of some of the primetime shows on the air now and go back to cartoons. Couldn't hurt.

My kids and I watch Tom and Jerry together. This must be my favorite and my kids are worse, they watch the same episodes over and over again. At one moment, I was afraid that they would imitate Tom and Jerry and start hitting each other. I also like the Flinstones (until now) and Wacky Races (not anymore), Betty Boop. I agree they don't make them like they used to anymore. I cannot appreciate today's cartoons which somehow to me is not fun, wholesome entertainment.

Tom and jerry was a favorite of mine as a kid too. I loved to watch how jerry could torment that Tom. if only children's cartoons could be that simple and fun today.

yes, like you I loved watching bugs bunny, road runner and coyote. I also liked Casper the friendly ghost and SuperFriends. I still love watching cartoons nowadays, I watch Spongebob, Phineas and Ferb and other Disney cartoons. I also watch Tom and Jerry tales. I guess it's more fun now since I get to enjoy these cartoons with my children, sort of our bonding times, I think I have more fun now as an adult watching cartoons with my kids compared to watching it alone when I was a kid myself.

i loved bugs bunny. i thought it was so funny and i got the humor even as a child even though some of it is clearly over kids heads. i could still watch it and laugh but it is not on any of the networks we get. i would love to share it with my son who is 8 and has a great sense of humor.

"Thunder...Thunder...ThunderCats! Hooooooo!" LOL! This was my all-time favorite cartoon when I was a child. I had the biggest crush on Lion-O, and I totally wanted to be Cheetara. What's weird is that I still remember Mumm-Ra's transformation incantation: "Ancient spirits of evil, transform this decayed form, into Mumm-Ra, the everlasting!" It's funny how the strangest things will stick with you.

As a child I had many cartoons I loved to watch but I would have to say that I actually had 2 favorite cartoons that I completely enjoyed watching. One was The Jetsons and the other was a shark called Jabberjaw. They were both very entertaining to me and I am pretty sure that if they were still on tv to this day that I would probably be glued to them.

Bugs bunny was the cartoon character that came to my mind after reading the title of your discussion. But i have seen that you also like underdog--I didn't know you like my brother lol . Kidding aside, bugs bunny was really a nice rabbit full of funny things. He was such a household name that even my mom can't switch channel to her favorite show if bugs bunny was making fun of his cartoon friends.

My favourite cartoon when i was a kid was spider man. I would rush from school to get home before it started on the television. We would discuss how it was with my classmates and my neighbours the next day.

I loved Scooby Doo, the Flintstones, Looney tunes, hehe. Those were the days. I still prefer old cartoons to the latest ones. Maybe it's because they were a part of MY childhood :-)

One of my childhood favourite cartoon is Doraemon. It trigger unlimited imagination by playing the storyline revolving around amazing device. Among the famouse one, are time machine, teleport doorway, head mounted flying rotor, amplifying or miniaturization torch light and etc. Besides, I like to watch transformer too. I like the to watch how the robots turn into vehicles and vice versa. It's just cool to have such multifunction feature and the flexibility that it comes along.

It has always been tom and jerry. I sometimes liked tweety the character but not the cartoon. I still watch tom and jerry sometimes. It is so funny. Now there are a lot of variations to the new one. They started including faces of human and even voices...previously it was all action. And when I was a kid, tom and jerry cassettes werent available in my native town, my uncle used to bring it from abroad and the day he lands there would be a hustle to watch newest cassette...those were fun days...

When i was a kid my favorite cartoon character was sailor moon (she is the most famous cartoon character here in our country during my time). Every saturday i never failed to watch her show and I really idolized her that even my notebook must have her face in its cover. I even imagine that she came in our house and play with me.

There were... far too many "favorite" cartoons, but, the common reasons for them to be in that list (That was supposed to be one single position) are either because it was "Cute" or "Awesome!". I still remember very vividly series like Wuzzles, Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater, Tom&Jerry, Kissyfur, which I feel are rather good representations of the "Cute side". Whereas on the "Awesome side" I'd be placing stuff like Transformers, Saber Rider or Reboot. It's really hard to give one single first place given all the series that I watched.
