What made you happy today?

My grandmother lives in a nursing home and today there was a party for the residents and their families. We had a nice dinner and a musician played many old songs on his keyboard.
Later on we had coffee and cakes and many people started dancing. The residents danced, their relatives danced and the staff danced. Some of the residents were in wheelchairs, but everyone participated in their own way, and everyone enjoyed the music.
My grandmother is suffering from dementia and so are many of the other residents, but they still remember many of the old songs and they still remember the lyrics. It was a wonderful sight, everyone was so happy and the residents really enjoyed the music.
It made me really happy to see the happiness of the residents. My grandmother's memory problems are very serious, but she has always loved music, and she still remembers all those old songs that she used to sing, and it was wonderful to see her happiness. The staff was amazing, they organised the party without any help, and they all spent their free time on this party, they didn't get paid for it.

It made me happy today when I learned that I would be getting an increase in my salary.Sounds great!This is good news for me because for so long the salary wage hike approved.That would really help augments my savings,moreover,the raise of the salary would ease the burden with my monthly expenses.Positive outlook I'm expecting ahead,so nice.I now can afford to purchase pricey things.It's time to enjoy life with quality stuff and maybe I could plan traveling to other places.

What made me happy today was that football is back so glad its back and I cant wait for tomorrow since the patriots will be playing there first game which should be good. Also the Redsox are doing good and beat the rays twice so im glad there doing a lot better now.

It is very good that you are taking care and giving all the attention to your Grandma. I am sure she is very happy about it.
One happy thing for me today, is going out to a beautiful lake up on the Rocky Mountains. It was the first time I have been to this particular lake, a stunning scenic beauty. The weather was excellent too, and was just so enjoyable walking along the lake shore. There were many tourists there too.

My mother passed away
from this dreadful disease! It was 5 years of pure hell! It certainly changed my life!
Something good happened to me today! I got two paid referrals on one of my revenue sharing sites! This will be a big plus for me in the future! tdemex

Well the thing that actually made me happy today was that I could actually have a good break and post on myLot. What made me happy today? My son who is 25 is in a nursing home too. He was in a bad wreck and sustained a had injury. Today, he opened his eyes and looked at me like he is really in there! He just sat and stared at me. He also responded similarly to his dad, stepmom and his sister. That's what made me happy today!

Yesterday being Sunday it was a feast day for us. Relatives and friends came over for lunch and had a good blasting fun. Every Sunday is a funfilled day for us. Later in the evening we all went out for walks. This is how we spend our holidays.
Reading your discussion made me further very happy. I just love people who makes others happy. I am so touched by the actions of the staff over there spending their free time with the inmates and that too free of charge.
As you are a writer you can put down all these in your dairy. If possible send a letter of thanks to each of the staff for their participation and for the love and care they are giving to the inmates. Hope all of them gets well soon. My best wishes to all of you there including all the staff. May God bless you all.

Thanks for your response. Writing about those things is a very good idea. I already plan on writing about the party in my diary, but sending is a letter to the staff would be a good idea, too. I think that they deserve that, because I really appreciae all the good things that they do for the residents like spending their free time on this party. In the past I have worked in different nursing homes, but I have never been at a place where the staff arranged someting like this, and I really appreciate their efforts.

Trust me, your letter will give them more happiness than they gave you and if nothing it will only spur them on to do more to as many as possible. Remember that phrase the world seems to have forgotten today, "Smile a while and while you smile, make another smile who make you smile".

Everyday when I got up at 4AM, my wife would prefer me an early breakfast. It may be an omelet, bacon, fried rice or toasted bread. And it always comes with a mug of my favorite hot coffee brewed to my taste. This simple thing my wife do for me every morning boost my energy, confidence and love her even more.

Hi porcospino, I am so glad for u. It really feels good to see loved one feel happy. :) My happiness came from - a friend paying a huge compliment - I find it huge because it is the kind of compliment I like, and another friend who I thought forgot me, sending me a mail! Well, two good things should have been enough, but I also noticed I lost about 1/2 kg weight since last Monday. :-) Had too many good things myself. :) So my day has been happy so far. I have submitted two tasks on Friday, if Sharon Bucks approves both of them, I will get $6 dollars! That will mean this day is truly full of god's bounties. Wont it?

Wow thats wonderful. My niece made me so happy today. :) She visits me at my place and show her new talent. Shes turning two next month and its my first time to hear from her to call me aunt and say my name. Because she usually call me "na na". LOL! Everytime she laughs it gives joy to my heart. I love to be with kids and it made my day bright.
