High heels, Ballerina flats or slippers?? Which one you prefer?

Hi mylotter members :) I'm not very sure to put this discussion under shopping or people interest, but i think maybe people is better, because it is depends on people's preference. Though this discussion involving girls/women, i wish the guys can share their opinion and preference here too. I love to wear ballerina most of the time, for me it is just convenient, comfortable and not torturing my legs. I do wear high heels sometimes, but just the 4 inch or less, for special occasion like prom night, or maybe to match with my jeans to make my legs look pretty. If i know that I'm going to have a lot of walk, shopping or stand for that particular day, I will never ever wear a high heels. I just felt that the high heels is torturing my feet and knee. Do you feel tortured by high heels? We have high heels range from 2.5 to 6.inch (i'm not sure, maybe more), for me the 6 inch is a torturing device. And the option haven't counted the platform (another torturing device). We can notice some girls/women window shopping with their high heels (4 inch and above), and my hat really off for them. I did read from somewhere that wearing high heels can change our biomechanics of walking and can have an impact on our body structure. Though there are so called 'steps' we can take to minimize the damage from our killer heels! Girls, what do you think about high heels? Do you wear high heels everyday, or may be for special occasion? Or you just comfortable with ballerina flats, or slippers. Guys, what do you think about girls wearing high heels? Do you feel that it is sexy? or you don't have any preference? how about girls wearing just slippers? (For guys, let's just consider the situation is in a shopping mall :). Please share..

i prefer wearing ballerina with 1 inch or flat. in most case i pair up sports shoes with my jeans. i love wearing high heels but only when i am dressed in Indian outfits, or during ocassions. it is not advisable to wear high heels on a regular basis. they cause problems to the legs

Hi abanerji, thanks for sharing here. I did wear Indian outfits before. As you said, it look nice with high heels =) Hi Gracee, shame you cannot get a ballerina. have you ever try on Crocs? They have the Olivia, it has the ballerina look, and very comfortable. They might have a bigger size. Thanks ilovechocolate for sharing the info. I never heard that high heels can cause retroverted uterus. This is serious, fortunately I'm not really often wear high heels. Take care girls =)

I don't really mind either because what's important is whether or not it feels comfortable on my feet. I have sensitive feet so it's not easy for me to find something that I like. Many shoes, even some expensive brands have made my feet pretty sore so I have no preference with the type except that it has to be soft enough for my feet and fit comfortably.

My oh my. I love shoes, I love all of them. Actually i like wearing high heels but only sometimes, because my husband is a bit short, so I don't want to look like the "giant wife" LOL! but usually I wear flats, I love how it goes with cute dresses and pants, But if I'm going to travel, I definitely into sneakers.

We always have to consider our partner when comes to high heels, otherwise as you said, we will become the gigantor.LOL. Ballerina flats always look cute with dress and pants. Sneakers always practical for traveling. We can always run to catch the flight or, sight seeing comfortably :)

As I am not very tall I like to wear high heels, it makes me a bit taller and thus I am happy with it too, but I also like to wear flat shoes as they are very good to wear for feet and for health too.

Hi jane, great to see you here. Yea, high heels really torturing my legs too. I used to wear slippers and ballerina flats a lot. Now, i'm into Crocs, they are just comfortable, convenient and practical. This Crocs of mine, is very feminine and follow the shape of your feet, so it won't look like all loose and oversize. Though it might really as sexy as ballerina, but it is definitely a comfort wear.

i like wedge shoes a lot! I was operated 2 years ago due to bunions. i am heavy built and i had been using high heeled shoes. After that operation, i was advised to wear slip ons. But the problem with slip ons and the problem with me is that i have terrible callouses that can bore the slippers a hole on the middle. that is why i appreciate wedge shoes a lot. I get to flaunt the height that i was born with and i get to be fashionista as well.

I like the look of high heels but can't wear them! They kill my feet. If I go somewhere dressie i'll wear them but it I sit there off. I mostly wear flats with rubber bottoms because I hate the sound the hard soled shoes make. Clip clop feel like a horse!!! Liz

Hi dasie, you are definitely agree with you. My flip flops make a lot of clip-clop noise, especially when I walking down the staircase, it was so embarrassed because almost everyone started to notice that is my walk. Have a nice day to you :)

Hi aerous, girls look sexy in high heels, with our feet pay for it :( My feet pay for it sometimes.. It had been proven as we look back the history, sexy or pretty or elegance lies in the eyes of the beholder/culture, you want to feel sexy/pretty/elegance, pay for the pain. Anyway thanks for the response.

frankly, i feel to wear heels more is bad to health. but if suitable, i think it's not only good to health from some medical books, but also can bring some beauty to match some clothes. but to me myself, because i'm not tall, so i always wear heels when working or meeting. but when at home, i'll wear slippers, when go to travel or climb or other sports, i'll wear sports shoes. and others...

Hi yolanda, it is more practical for us to wear accordingly to our activities. You are right, wearing high heels for formal occasion really add up our elegance and professionalism, thus having a good impression in people eyes. Have a nice day to you :)

I love heels.. I don't know how to walk actually with flat shoes.. therefore, I will much prefer to wear heels.. I walk better that way.. even during my pregnancy, I was even with heels till I got warning from my boss! I think I only change to flat court shoes about 5 months into pregnancy.. now, coz I have to carry my girl, I have to continue wearing slippers, flats in order to avoid falling.. but I am look forward to the days I wear my heels again..

It might be hard to switch our preference into something else, as we already attach to it. Just a humble opinion, maybe you shouldn't wait until 5 months pregnancy, i think it is quite dangerous. Actually I don't really know, I'm still single and don't really know about pregnancy, but i just feel that we really have a great responsibility to minimize anything that can create a hazardous situation. Be well and take care :)

[Hi de_angel97[/b] Of course it depends on the place and activity. I love high heels! But I rarely wear it, because most of the time, when I go out, I need to walk for a long time, like for window shopping or in recreation park. I only wear it in formal party. So, daily I use ballerina flats. It has many shape and color, and usually not as expensive as high heels. It looks good and comfy to wear. Beside it, I'm a college student and during whole day in college, ballerina flats is the best choice for me simple and cute, not torturing my legs and easy to take off whenever I feel hot or tired. About slippers, I often wear it too when I only need to go to the small shop beside my home or go to shopping in small market with my mom. That's simple and I'm not afraid if it's going to dirty,,hehe.

Hi friend, yep it always depend on our activity for that particular day, never ever wear your cute ballerina or expensive high heels if we expected to go to the wet market at the end of the day. Flip flops or slippers is the best to go for the market. Happy mylotting to you =)

I used to wear high heels(never really high) more like the skinny pump. I do good now to walk in tennis shows. I do have shows that have the wide raised up hills but nothing spiked or any other nature as a matter of fact. I am not as young as I used to be. I do not worry about sexy skirts with high heels and low cut tops. I do good to get out of bed everyday.

I wear high heels every day to work but on the weekends I prefer my tennis shoes or plain old bare feet. I recently asked my Dr. about wearing high heels because I have fibromyalgia and she said that high heels strengthen your' calves and the backs of your' thighs. I believe it. Mine are getting muscle in them but my feet pay for it!

Hi rebecca, wow, your doctor did say the high heels will benefit our legs? I'm not sure about that, because i read quite a lot saying that high heels will just causing knee and back pain, and not good for health. Your doctor did say about the disadvantages? mind to tell me further about that? Be well =)

I prefer ballerina style flats. I think they are more comfortable. Although I do wear my running shoes the most often - I think they have the best support. I don't work in an office though, so I don't have to be super formal about things.

I'm pretty sure most women prefer to wear a ballerina flats or slippers for everyday use. This is because they're so comfortable and I'm saying this because I'm one of the women out there that wear slippers instead of some high heels that at the end can bring pain to my feet.Plus my feet are not suitable for high heels due to my plum size and short leg that give more pressure on the feet. But I do agree that we wear high heels mostly for special occasion such as wedding, dinner, photo shoot, interview or any formal meeting or presentation. And I do see this kind of waves in our daily days especially for student because I'm in that range and its obviously that the girls mostly wear slippers or shoe compared to high heels. Its more safety than the high heels.I don't for the women that works but I've seen someone that she just wear high heels when she arrive at the office and take it off change to slippers after they get in at their room or work place.I guess the slippers and flats win over the high heels.hehe.

Hi rashidah, I do agree with you, some high heels, especially those 3 inches and above really torturing our legs at the end of the day. As for student, we can see mostly they are wearing sneakers or slippers. But some of them are fashionita, they do wear heels to class though they have trouble queuing for bus and climbing up the stairs. I have seen the scenario where the office lady wear high heels to their work place, and under the desk, they are slippers for them to walk around. When it is time for lunch, they will just switch back to their heels, i think it is practical too. You can appear sexy and got-the-style to the public, but at the same time you do minimize the damage that can be caused by our high heels. have a nice day :)

I prefer to wear high heels as i'm pretty short, I used to wear them all the time and just started wearing flats when i got my dog (it is not easy to walk up the park with heels on) but i did notice that my calves were aching quite abit after switching from heels to flats - i read somewhere that wearing heels all the time can shorten the muscles in the calf, don't know how true that is though.

Hi lydia, it won't be easy right to walk dog with high heels, we never know when the dog spot something interested, and going to chase it, then it will become a total disaster, drag by the dog and unbalanced :( . Yea, i heard the high heels can cause knee and back problems. Though many did admit it hurts their feet, but they just tolerate with the pain and discomfort in order to look stylish, taller and professional.

Heels when possible for me, they make me feel sexy, elegant and much more confident, however for work its ballerina flats, which are comfy, practical, look smart and chic!

Yep, i always think that ballerina flats is practical. If i'm by myself, especially at night, i never wear a heels, you never know later on you might need to run from something or someone. Indeed, ballerina flats is a yes-yes, it's comfy, and chic, and can be stylish too :)
