For whatever reason (and they do vary), have you ever been in a physical fight? Was it a punching fight, or maybe just a shoving match...? I have never been in a fight, although I guess my sister and I did "scuffle" when we were little kids. But we were too small to do much damage to each other.

Nope, never. I think it's safest if i play unaggressive and non-provoking. However, i'm trained to be prepared for a physical fight at all times as i'm trained in Taekwondo.

I guess that explains why you never engage in a physical fight - it's because you know you have an advantage over your enemies. I've thought of studying martial arts, but I never found the time to do it. You're really lucky because you are able to defend yourself. As for me, I have guts but not muck skill.

Once a long time ago.....two guys were waiting for my son when he got off work one day...he wasn't very old...like maybe 14....my daughter and I went to pick him up from work and these guys attacked him.....well his sister took one and I took one and we jumped on them.....they didn't hit us as we are girls but my daughter scared the crap out of her guy and I hung on the bigger of the two....later they asked my son....who the H*ll were those two women? Well they never tried to jump him again...no one really got hurt....but it was scary.

No, I had no idea his show was ready to air. I think Dann won his own online show though. Not that it is much comfort to him.

A couple of times. Once when I was a teenager this other girl told lies about me to another girl or told the girl that I called her a Bit_h. I had never met the girl that she said this to about me. Anyhow the girl hit me in my jaw. I hit her back a few times. I also got in a fight with a old ex roommate. She started rammed my head into the wall once I got up I dugg my finger nails into her shoulders . She stopped then. I don't like to fight and I have never started a fight but if someone does start hitting me I am going to fight back. Of course now i can't fight as well.

I would never start a fight. But if someone hit me, rest assured I'd finish the fight.

I had three brothers, and I grew up fighting with them, but mostly just for fun. I also used to fight with my friends for fun. I did have a few real fights, but nothing real brutal.

I just remembered, I even had my own boxing gloves. They were one of my favorite things when I was young. My dad used to take me to see the boxing matches, and at first he thought I would be scared, but I loved it.

Once in eigth grade, it was in gym class and I said something to a friend and she didn't like what I said and next thing I know she is shoving me and pulling my hair, I was pretty much kind of shocked at first and asked her to stop and when she didn't I got angry and started fighting back. Then I was also attacked when I was younger and since I had taken martial arts classes I defended myself against him and ended up hurting him enough to get away from him.

I always wish I knew how to defend myself if ever I was attacked. I carry a really huge key in the middle of my hand, so if I'm grabbed from behind, my hand can either go back and get him in the eyeballs, or it can go under, and I'll get his, other, well, I think you get the picture.

The key is to remain as calm as possible and keep your brain engaged. I wrote a whole article on defending yourself against an attacker, if you are interested in reading it let me know and I will send you the link.

I've been in numerous fights, mostly with my sister but there have been a few others. I would usually punch and shove. My sister used to slap and pull hair and scratch.

Hey Amber! I really hate to even tell this story because it makes me so angry all over again! I got through almost all of my 50+ years without ever having to have a physical fight until about three summers ago! My stupid azz girlfriend/neighbor and I were at her apartment and I don't even remember what happened but, she said something to me, and it wasn't the first time she put her hands on me, but it was the last time that I let her get away with it. I had pushed her away once before when she went to smack me, but this time was much worse and another neighbor was in between us so this made it really horrific! She said something, I cursed at her, she hit me, I went to punch her and I hit my poor male neighbor instead who tried to get inbetween us! Apparently, I hit him! This wasn't the last time! It happened one more time when she and a friend of hers were together and they both ganged up on me! I am not the fighting type and never have been so I was not used to having to physically defend myself against "street types"! I warned her that day that if she ever so much as raised her hand to me again I would call the police! Unfortunately, both of us would be arrested since that's what they do when there is an altercation! I never once got into a fight when I was younger and I am way too old to now! Is that pathetic or what! And yes, we are still friends, but I don't trust her!

Oh yes I have, and not just once. Kicking, punching, scratching, pulling hairs, biting...you name it, I've done it. I have such a short temper when I was younger. Well, I still have a short temper but at least I don't hurt anyone physically anymore when I'm angry. People should just be careful not to make me really angry or I might go back to my old ways.

i've never really been in a serious fight before. I'm not that type of a person. well except once but it wasn't really a fight. There was a lot of laughing going on. It was kind of stupid but i was 12 and everyone wanted to prove themselves.

i have been in several fights with my husband that have been physical in the past. its not much fun and theres never a winner both people lose everytime. I think emotional fighting can be just as bad as physical fighting too

yes even many times when i was child. n in my childhood i used to do this daily but after some time matters used to be solved. but now i dont do these things alot as i ve grownup now and i will have to bear many responsibilities and have to live with peace in society. Even some time i feel that i can do this again. but now the quarrel becomes a big fight.

Hello AmbiePam. I was an obedient student at school without having any physical fight against my classmate. Another reason was due to my timidness. Even now if I saw someone fighting or quarreling, I would feel very nervous. But I have to admit that there was one time when I quarreled with my playmate as a child. That was the only time. I think that either fighting or quarreling is very hurting physically and mentally. In general, timid as I have been, I think that I am a good boy.

I think the last and probably only physical fight I was in was when I was around maybe 10 years old. It was nothing too serious, just a few kids my own age that I had a disagreement with and no one was terribly hurt. We just pushed each other a little. Me and my brother did have a few 'scuffles' as you put them, but then which siblings don't?

I've been in lots of physical fight. One real fight has been in high school. It was a big fistfight and lots of blood came out. My blood, his blood, the principal's blood. Just joking, haha. But we were really going at it. Stupid enough, we were fighting over a girl. She was a pretty, hot, attractive girl and she meant a lot to me. She liked me too but she also had some feelings about the other guy also. So he wanted to fight it out and I didn't want to back out of a challenge. So we just started punching each other. I got him, he got me so what. It went on for about a few minutes without no teachers until I got held back. In the end, I didn't get hurt or him severly but it was just some blood from noses and mouth. It was pretty intense for me because all my martial arts lessons paid off because he was pretty big, strong, and fast. I knew I wouldn't win, but I could survive and I did. I earned a pretty dam good reputation also. In the end, no one really won, I got suspended, and I didn't get the girl because she doesn't want a violent guy. I just sighed and moved on with my life. I've been in martial arts and karate when I was little all the way until high school. So I can spar with my trainer and been in real fights in contests and stuff like that. I know how to defend myself, and stuff like that. It was fun though, my parents got pissed off at me but fights are bad just to tell you guys. Don't ever get into a fight because it really hurts your permanent record. But recreational fighting is alright. This has been a good topic to talk about. It has brought back some really old memories and have a good day MyLotters!

The last time that i went into physical fight is when im in college, my brother and i had a misunderstanding I shouted at him and to my surprise he punch me in the face. My mother arrived and she saw what happened and he punished my brother that he almost kicked out o our house. Since then he never laid his hand on me again, when we had a argument, he just shout at me but didnt hurt me anymore.

When I was younger I was in a few. One time this girl kept picking on a friend of mine I was maybe 11 or 12. My friend was much smaller than her and she was just so hateful to her so I told her in some pretty colorful words to meet me outside the locker room and we went at it. Pushing, shoving, kicking, I remember throwing the first swing and missing :) My adrineline was going so fast and so way my heart. It was insane. I remember the teachers and a bunch of kids were around, no one even attempted to stop us until we were done. We both got slightly banged up but nothing serious. Another time the next year with the same girl we got into another arguement in the classroom and I pushed her so hard she fell and knocked over a bunch of desks. We didnt even get in trouble for that. One other time I was around 9 years old and my sister friend who was about 13 or 14 would not stop picking on me in frotn of all her friends at the mall. She was just so cruel to me. She was only of those girls who talks big game but cant do anything at the end of the day. So finally in the middle of the food court as she walked away from me after putting me down I ran up grabbed a big chunk of her pretty blond hair, twisted it in my hands and pulled as hard as I could pulling her all the way backwards to the floor with one blow. I'm not a vilolent person. I would never fight again today but that day and that moment was one of my proudest sticking up for myself and she never bothered or came near me again.
