I had been thinking about this for a long time now, and wanted to do something healthy. Recently i had been in a hospital for someone close to me and it was a hospital for the diabetics. I have seen with my naked eyes how terrible life becomes if you aren't taking the initiative to stay healthy. I ws busy in the recent months but FINALLY I have enrolled for a good gymnasium, starting from tomorrow. I gonna have that bulge of the biceps, LOL have you done anything healthy in the recent days? What do you do to stay fit and healthy? Please do share.

Woohoo! Gimme a high 5!! Its better you gimme the high 5 now. Once you get those bulging biceps, my hand may hurt. But jokes apart, its a good thing that you have taken up this initiative. You go boy!! As we age things just get harder, when it comes to staying in shape. We need to incorporate staying in shape as a part of our lifestyle, right from the time we are young. I take out atleast 45-50 minutes 3-4 times a week to workout. I feel yucky if I don't. Luckily, I have always been slim. But staying slim and staying healthy are two different things and I know that.

If I may come with a couple of suggestions: - try to read one of Stuart McRobert's books: either "Beyond Brawn" or his latest "Build Muscle, Lose Fat, Look Great". Though I like the first one the most, but it is just my personal opinion. - regarding nutrition, take a look at Tom Venuto's "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" Weight training is one of the most rewarding activities that you can do, once you begin to get "addicted" to the Iron Game.

Yup I used to do it when I was a bit younger in my college days. Now work had taken toll over me. But I am managing to take some time off to go there at the gym. So I am quite "addicted" in lifting weights. I will see if I can lay my hands on those books you mentioned. But one thing is for sure, I indeed gonna get those bulging biceps back. Thanks for the recommendations and your encouragement.

You're welcome! It's good to see people that want to change their life for the better. Just remember to keep at it and don't quit when the going gets tough. Gradual poundage progression in good form is the key. A lot of small steps come a long way.

Noy too much Bodhi. I have cut back on food to lose weight and do walk more than I used to. I do try to eat healthy and sensibly - especially after eating all those desserts on the cruise! Exercise and maintaining a good weight will go far in keeping you healthy. Good luck to you.

Thanks a lot, dear friend. walking is the most natural and effective way to stay fit I guess. So how many desserts and calories you gained in the cruise?
