We went grocery shopping yesterday... My mother came with us along with my daughter. As my daughter and I are waiting for our number to be called at the deli section, my two year old accidentally touches a man. she just brushed along his leg a bit. I didn't see a problem in this, I apologized. He than told me to control my daughter and gave me a bad look. I was so angry that I told him "she is a child and she does not realize what she did was bad, and to be an adult and realize this" As I am telling him this, he gives me a bad look and walks away! What would you have done in this situation?

I would have done exactly what you did. Try not to worry about it. He was just a cranky man. He probably doesn't have any kids.

Wow Shar! That is exactly what my mother said, she said people who don't have kids won't understand! Thanks for filling that in some more!

I think maybe some people ou just have to brush off and not let them bother you. I admit it irritates me when parents let their children run wild in the stores, mostly because in this day and age it's dangerous to not have small children by the hand in public, (too many wierdos out there!) but to simply brush against someone is no reason to be rude like that man was. So I think that after appologizing like you did, I probably would have just shook my head and walked away.

I guess... But why couldn't he just take the apology and leave it alone! The look on his face was terrible. I held my composure, and I am happy I did so. It just showed him who the adult really was!

I would have done the same thing that you did. Kids do not know any better. They dont know that they should not touch in certain places. That guy over reacted about that situation. He should have not given you a bad look either. You apologized and thats all that had to be done.

Hey marriedman, I apologized and he still gave me such an attitude?!?! Wasn't he a child once? lol...

I have got a bit annoyed when kids are being rowdy and the mother doesn't seem to care, but in your case, you apologised and it really wasn't your two year old's fault. That man sounds a bit unnecessarily bad tempered. You should just brush things like that off, don't let it upset you. Little kiddies are not very aware of other people around them. A little girl ran right into my legs in the supermarket the other day, but she didn't see me, bless her!

I know. My daughter doesn't see anyone around her other than the people she knows.. lol.. She wasn't running around she was actually holding my hand, and this man so happened to be standing next to me, maybe he shouldn't have been so close?!?! lol... Did u get upset when the little girl ran through your legs?

Not at all, I just laughed. I kinda saw it coming because I walked through a gap between the mother and her daughter, and the girl just turned to run to her mother. It probably hurt her little nose more than it hurt my knees.
