Hi friends when the ashes-09 ended many people said that Aussies have lost their touch with the game. Some even said that the saga of Australian cricket is at an end? Is it really true. Will you still say the same after the ODI's Aussies are on their way to clean sweep the Natwest series. They have already won the series with 6-0. What do you say now?Is the Ashes win just a lucky one for England?

hi gopi, Australia is a great cricket nation since the day test cricket started and they did beat england way back then too and did beat 6-0 in one day internationals too but they lost what they treasure most "THE ASHES". Australia may still be a very great cricket side but they have lost the aura they had till few months back and they dont look invincible any more like they were under Steve Waugh.

well no one can ever count Aussies out or down. They always bounce back no matter how bad situation is and they are still a side to watch in south africa. One thing about them is they have got tremendous bench strength. No matter who is injured or retire they always manage to find good replacements and soon the replacements are nearly as good as the ones they replaced if not better.

Ya you are right aussies have lost their the so called dominance in the world of cricket. The loss of ashes proved that aussies are vulnerable. But I think the win of Natwest would definitely boost up their confidence levels and I think the matches in the coming series would be very thrilling...

hi vinslounge..England was never a better ODI side since their home series win against SA under Pieterson captaincy..Aussies are definitely back in business with their young team and they managed very well against broad, sidebottom and anderson..I don't want to see reasons like KP or freddie's absence for their dismal show in this ODI series...

I don't think they are still completely up to the mark. And so I think how you are asking that they are regaining their touch or not? Anyways, each one is free to express his own views. But I think, up to some extent the Aussies are really over for good. Team India is playing good. And so are some other teams like South Africa. Other than India and may be South Africa, I don't see any other team giving the Aussies a challenge.

Ya definitely.....We can expect close contests wen Aus play against Ind or SA..The ppl too need such matches rather than getting glued to one sided contests in the past....

Ya definitely except India and SA no team can give Aussies a great challenge. The games would be thrilling because Aussies and India are in the same group...

I never believed that Australia lost touch. They lost the Ashes due to two bad batting performances, they looked the better team at all other times. Yeh many people have said that Australia are done after that defeat, but they have bounced back strongly. Unfortunately they could not get a clean sweep. England looked very weak throughout the ODI series, they just lacked the energy on the field.

Only Champions trophy shall decide about it. It has to be noted that England team lacks its legendary players such as Flintoff, Pietersen and good players like Harmison, Bell due to injuries and other concerns. The only two batting stays are Strauss and Collingwood where the latter is succumbed to Lack of form at present. Hence with these wins you cannot term that Aussies are back in Business. The Champions trophy that follows and the gruelling tour to India can be the real decider.

Ya you are right champions trophy would decide that. But this series win against England would boost up aussies confidence very much.Eventhough India won the compaq cup in my opinion it didn't boost up because Indians had made a mess of fielding in the compaq cup. There is a great concern in Dhoni's words in the press conference yesterday. The advantage aussies have in the champions trophy is that they are not the favs this time

One series doesn't mean they are back on track. Just consider their past record did they lose 2 ashes consecutively since 1988.I accept they do pull of great wins klike they defeated South Africa after losing to them at home.No the only point is are they dominating world cricket as they were a few years back.If you feel the answer to that is positive then i don't have much to say .

i would not say that but i think i will have to say that, after losing gili and hayden, they have lost their way a bit. everyone know that they are the best team in the whole world no doubt about that but there was a phase when they lost their way and got down in the rankings.

As far as test cricket is concerned, the Aussies are in a downhill path. After the loss of Mathew Hayden, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne and others, the Aussies are not the same power as they used to be before. Regarding the one day 50 over game, it is another matter, as it is happening in the present Natwest series.Only the champions trophy, will provide the answers. Regarding 20-20, they have yet to prove themselves.

Well friend ODI cricket is different from Test cricket. So, in ODI's and T20 format of cricket no team an dominate much longer. India, South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia are the teams which cannot be under estimated at all. They can beat any team where badly on their day. In ODI format one cannot even under estimate a team like Bangladesh or Zimbabwe. But it is un fortunate that present England team is not playing as unit. Something is missing some extra edge.. One more thing is that never write off Australian team because they have good bench strength, the team which takes lightly the Australian team will face the same defeat as the present England team. I agree with you that England team won the Ashes test series very luckily. People who think that Australian cricket is at end are fools in my view.. Australia is having best domestic circuit and good bench strength, when Brett Lee was out with injury then Peter Siddle and Staurt Clarke done great job in tests..

There 6-0 win in nat-west is against prbably the weakest one day side in test playing nations except bangladesh. They played good cricket but it was not the only reason for there win.. real poor cricket by the england contributed more than anything else to that. Aussies for sure have lost there touch from what they were can say in last ODI world cup.. and now are like any other ordinary team. India and South Africa both have by far better team then what aussies have now.

They always seem to bounce back. Lets see how they play in the Champions league. And there is one more match left to be played.

For me the main causes to lose the ashes was the absence of Brett lee..Australia didnt have their main bowler which cost them a lot...there might also be the other factors like they were away from their home and so on..they proved that they are the best by winning 6 ODI's in a row...england has just won the ashes by chance...

HELLO I think Aussies are playing against a much weaker side of England than the one which is present at ashes.Aussies are not so good for which they are world champions but i think it is luck by chance.Aussies are still not able to fill up the vacant position of there match wining players who left the side some times back ,there capability is seen in ipl for which they are known but now days Ozs has no such one.

no i am not agree with you friend..because...loosing in one series you can't say...that aussies lost their touch...because..in a gmae lost is the part of that game..if you will play better then you will win..and ply bad..then you will lost...so it's depend on the team how he play...
