I find it interesting that its different for so many people. Some prefer classical while others a more up beat type like rock. I think it depends too on the types of stressors going on in your life at that time. I will prefer more of a rock type music to take my mind off things when its money issues or kids making me stressed out. If its that im stressed because of over load like deadlines for a project then i lean towards the classical type music. My favorite when im really stressed is the nature sounds CDs great for snuggling up with a blanket and listening to on a cold rainy day?

I find that listening to soft classical music really relaxes me, also instrumental Celtic music is really good for relaxation. Several years ago I bought several albums from a record label called "Northsound" (which I believe is no more, unfortunately) which incorporated soothing instrumental music with nature sounds like a gentle rolling thunder and rain or ocean waves crashing against the shore. Some of the albums provided classical music and nature sounds. I believe some of these Northsound albums are available on the marketplace at amazon.com.

I am a total music lover, so different types of music relax me, depending on my mood situation. If I'm angry, I'll listen to songs that fuel up my anger even more . . . like Alanis Morrisette's "You Outta Know". Or rock songs with good guitar riffs. Love songs often relax me . . . like Jodeci's "Come and Talk to Me". Or Ricky Martin/Christina Aguilera's "Nobody Wants to be Lonely". There's a lot of them - and I like the oldies stuff too! I enjoy "danceable" songs for pick me ups . . . as dance keeps me my mind off things (and for exercise). Some classics relax me. I used to like Smetana's "Moldau" from when I was in high school. Anyway, the list goes on. I think music period relaxes me!
