In the past there was this 10,000 step deal that people seemed to like as a goal. I have been trying to increase my exercise but was curious what other people start out with as a walking goal. Ive been doing 1 mile in the morning and 1 mile in the evening. Just wondering if its going to help much since its not much. I also bike 5 miles a day. I know these are low goals but im working my way up to being fit not jumping off the deep end lol

Hello good2go... I haven't really set myself a goal yet. I know when I was walking this past spring I would work for 45 minutes. Some days that averaged out to about 3 miles. Of course all of this walking was on a treadmill.LOL I guess any working is better than no walking at all. Great discussion and have a nice day..

I think treadmill is just as good as outside walking if your looking at calorie burn or toning. I think 45 minutes is very good im just wanting to tone areas and feel im not seeing the results i want as fast as i want. I just need to find some patience

Hi good2go! I always try to walk at least 10,000 steps a day but a average around 12,000-15,000 steps. Some days I opt for riding my stationary bike for at least 1/2 hour. I also have rest days to give my body time to recover. Your plan to walk one mile in the AM and one mile in the PM is excellent. Add the biking 5 miles a day is a total of 7 miles of exercie daily and that is plenty.
