How unfair can life be?

I found out that my cousin was in hospital this past week and just got out last night. She had fluid drained from her lungs. While she was there, they decided that she has ovarian cancer than may have metastasized to her lungs causing the fluid.
This is the cousin who just lost her sister 3 weeks ago to suicide. She is only 36. Thank heavens she already had her kids and is finished. When it rains it pours.
How likely is it that the spots on her lungs are unrelated to the ovarian cancer? I want them to be benign!

I feel very sorry for your cousin. I guess one problem in the body can create another. Life can be so horrible times. One of the best things in life is good health. I send your poor cousin many good wishes. I hope that she can get as well as possible. She is one year younger than me.

Wow, that is certainly a scary experience to have to go through. Kudos to you & your family for keeping strong during these tough times. But you must be optimistic, no lie. As soon as you say life is unfair, it's almost like God (or whatever higher power exists), wants to test you on that theory - by making life even harder. Life definitely is unfair, but it wouldn't be life if it were fair. If you keep your head held high, and try to be more optimistic of things, I'm sure everything will turn out fine. (It's the trials that make us stronger!) Best wishes.
