Hi Mylotters I was just wondering how the weather may effect your mood when it changes For me I get the blues sometimes when it rains or is very cloudy for more than 3 days, a couple of months ago we had 3 weeks of non stop clouds and rain it was either raining or drizzling or it was cloudy no sun . Everyone at work was talking about how they just couldn't take much more of it it was depressing. I always thought how interesting it was that the weather can change peoples mood from one thing to another. Well we had some flooding and after that cleared out and the sun came out I was like a new person seeing the blue sky and some white clouds did wonders I even looked forward to going out, I don't like going out in the rain not even to shop it sort of ruins it for me (depending on how hard its raining) Some people even get the blues when the seasons change and the days are shorter and fall and winter approaches people like to go on vacation to where its sunny and warm. I don't like when the days get shorter either here it gets dark at like 5:30pm even though I like the fall because of all the beautiful leaves I don't like the shorter days lol but I don't mind the cold weather either. I would be interested in knowing how this works in Alaska I saw the film 30 Days Of Night and was wondering if there is any truth to that weather pattern.

I have minor seasonal disorder - where if I don't get at least a few minutes of sunlight every few days I start getting depressed, but currently I'm THRILLED with the change for the cooler of the weather...

Hi Elicbxn I've heard of that disorder a coworker of mine says her dad has it and he gets the blues practically all winter long It effects a lot of people some mildly some more severe I get it every now and then but I do like when its cold outside and I can curl up with a good book and a nice cup of tea . I don't really mind the cold weather as long as its not like 15 degress and the wind is blowing that I can't deal with

after a summer with 68 days of 100 or more temps, I am so glad for the change to the cooler - didn't even make 70 today!

yes, there is truth in that. Right now where I live..we have been having cloudy, rainy days for about 2 weeks straight!! I feel a little depressed and it makes me feel tired all the time. I can't wait for the sunshine to come out and brighten up my day!!

Hi Gossipgirl9 Yes I can definitely relate to that when the sun does finally come out your going to love it your probably stand outside and just take it all in I remember the day after we had that 3 week rain period everyone started coming out of the woodwork just wanting to be outside although you couldn't do much because it was still pretty soggy outside we hit the malls and restaurants

Hi Cherryd! I think that sometimes when it's cloudy and rainy or snowy for awhile it can make make me feel a little down. But usually there's something I like about most any kind of weather. I like to look at clouds, even if they're gray. Thunder storm clouds can be really cool looking! I don't really like the days getting shorter now, but at least I'll get some things done inside that don't get done during the summer. I know some people that have a problem with getting depressed over winter. I think it's partly that we stay inside so much more. I try to get out and walk every couple of days, even in winter, except if it's really cold. I do get really tired of winter about the end of February though, and can't wait for spring.
