What is the best way to get referrals?

I belong to a bunch of money making sites and I am making a decent extra income but I know I am missing the boat with referrals. I have tried through social networking sites but don't see to get many bites. Do you have a tip or trick you would like to share? I really want to venture in this direction but need some direction! Please feel free to send any ideas and be detailed if you could! Thanks so much everyone!

Hi jodylee,
This is the method I use:
- most of the time, I test out the site 'til I reach payout
- I then write about the site in as much detail as I can on my blog, plus insert my proof of payment.
- I then promote the post on traffic-exchange sites. Sometimes, I'll create a summary page (a splash page) for the traffic exchanges with a link that goes to my blog post.
The amount of referrals I get and the level of effort I have to put into getting referrals depends on the popularity of the site I'm promoting. I've had more success getting referrals for IM Report Card, for instance, than I've had with Neobux.

I need to get myself a blog. I have been think that might be a good trick. What is a traffic exchange though? I have never heard of this and would love more info on that. and IM report card? I am not sure what that is either. Thanks for the info!

Perfect! Thanks browneyed! I will look at that site! I appreciate that! Blogging has been an interest of mine so I think it is time to kick it into gear! I think I get the traffic exchanges now.

What site do you need referrals for because I also need referrals maybe we can do a referral exchange.
