Dear mylot friends, I can understand that many of us on mylot come from many different parts of the world and the majority are from the third world countries. I know that many of you are looking for ways to make some extra money either to support your hobbies and even some of you might even try to support your living expenses. No matter what it is the reason you want to make some extra money, it is all understandable, however, you must take care of yourselves by NOT falling into traps of PTC scam sites. It happened to myself and to my friends as well, the two biggest scam sites are WaoIndia and HitzMagic as we lost nearly $1,000 USD investing in purchasing referrals and upgraded ourselves to Gold Premium membership. However, at the end, when we request for payments, they accused us for violating their TOS and so in order for us to receive the payments, we must purchase a product from them and the cost was at least $100 USD. We were naive to commit to purchasing the product but still, they turned around and accused us on other issues. It has now been more than 6 months and we did not receive any payments but the status in our accounts showed PAID or PAYMENT SENT. They recently posted some warnings on their websites saying that posts about their sites being scam are illegal, what??? Illegal in which way? They said that they run internet scan to find out who make those posts, and then what??? Do we really care? Do they own and rule the internet world? Of course NOT. My friend and I have been in contact with the Indian, US and Canadian authorities and follow-up on the investigation, it is still an undergoing process and we are still working together. It is our duties to alert poor innocent people like ourselves so we can fight scam together so we can help each other to not fall victimized. Take very good care of yourselves my friends.

That's a hard lesson to learn that way. I hope there's some way you can recoup your losses from those sites. Is there any way you can pursue matters with the payment processor you used to pay them, or has too much time passed? Regarding the warnings they've posted... I wouldn't be too worried. It sounds like they're trying to claim that posts about the sites being scams are libelous. If everything you say about it is true, then there's nothing illegal about it. I have to agree with you, too--they can't police the entire internet. Very few forums make members' IP addresses public. Most reputable forums won't turn over that information to anyone but the proper authorities, and sometimes they won't even do that until the authorities produce a warrant for the information. Sounds to me like they're trying to scare members into not telling the truth about their experiences with the sites.

Thanks for your response. We did try to contact our payment sources to see if we can get our money back but nothing could be done because they were done deals. Of course everything I posted in here is 100% true and if the investigation from the authorities require proofs for those transactions, I am prepared to present to them because everything is on record including communication with the sites' admins. It is true of what you said, there is absolutely nothing illegal about it and I am not worried either, thanks for the encouragement and I will not stop posting posts like this to any other sites that I have the opportunity because I need to warn innocent users so they won't fall into their traps. Thank you again for your response. Cheers!

Thank you my friend, I learned my lesson the hard way but it is better sooner than later. Good thing that they did this to me and my friends, otherwise, if they just sent the payments to us, what we would do and we have always been planning to do was to use those payments and reinvest back in by buying more referrals so we could make more money and we even thought of spending more out of our own pockets to do this. We find ourselves lucky to lose only that much and not more. Have yourself a pleasant day my friend.
