I am new to Mylot. i have only joined this month. Whenever I submit a friend request to a fellow mylotter, I anxiously wait for my email approval of my friend request. Have you ever denied a friend request to a fellow mylotter? Have you ever been denied a friend request by a fellow mylotter?

hi there, sender621.. welcome to myLot! i haven't been here for quite some time and it's nice to know that myLot is here to stay. it doesn't share much popularity with twitter or facebook, but i am also quite thankful for the friends i've gained through myLot. i haven't ever denied a friend request but i've been denied a friend request many times - though not here in myLot. when someone denies my friend request, i don't take it personally. it hurts me but life goes on. we can't force people to like us, right? happy myLotting! :)

I've never denied a friend request, but I am kind of a slacker and don't check them very often, so it might take a while to hear from me. It's nothing personal, I just forget to check and accept. Why would you deny someone you don't even know. That doesn't make sense to me. Welcome to mylot!

If i do not know the person who has sent me the friend request, in all probability i would deny the request.

Usually when I get a new request, I add someone if they seem to be putting an effort into what they're doing here. If they ask a lot of questions with no other input other than the question like: what is your favorite color? I don't add them and I don't add them unless I see something better come from them, I keep the request for a few days and check on them. It might be discouraging for someone new, but it's more discouraging for me to have to go through my friends list and figure out who's still around and who's not.

[b]I deny some of them, & I have specific reasons for doing so. 1. If they have too much interest in topics I find boring on the whole (make-up, relationships, or making money, for instance), I will politely refuse. 2. If their approach is often vulgar, whether in topic, wording or pictures, I refuse--without explanation. Let them figure it out. 3. If I feel we really just can't communicate because their English is so poor, sadly, I must gently refuse. 4. And last, though not least, I have about all the email I can handle, so I choose, even when I like everything about a poster!--carefully whether or not to add anyone new! Hi sender! I don't like to deny a friend request, especially from a new mylotter like yourself! When I was a newbie I had alot of help and I did appreciate older members giving me a chance and I feel that I should also do the same! Unfortunately, lately there have been some users that have come back "pretending" to be "new users" who are really olders users who were banned from mylot, so some of us older members have been more careful about who we are accepting as friends. It is a shame for the newbie who really are newbies because they have nothing to do with it and shouldn't be punished for these other users are doing. So if someone is hesitating accepting your friendship request, this might be the reason! I am sending you a friendship request so you can add me too!

I have never denied a friend request, and I usually welcome everyone with open arms I have found friends from many different countries, and I am very happy about that. I love the fact that so many different countries are represented here on MyLot, it makes Mylotting more interesting. When I receive a friend request I always look at the profile, because I am curious to find out more about the person's gender, age or country. I also like to have a look at the discussions that (s)he has started and responded to. I have never denied a friend request because of the person's age, country, or number of posts, but I like to look at the profile,, because I am curious to find out a bit more about the person.

I am pretty new to this too. I signed up maybe about 3 months ago but I have not been on that much at all so I haven't sent out any friend requested and I don't think that I would deny any other friend requests because the more friends on mylot the better.

I don't deny friend requests here and on any other social sites. The truth is I'm really glad that I have this request because it goes to show that they recognize my efforts and deeds. I seldom add people, I usually do it if I think we are very much the same but most of the time if I find someone very very cute.

No, I have never denied a friend request in myLot and nobody has ever denied me either. I would only deny a friend if somebody was being particularly rude or hurtful in some way, but fortunately, I have not come up against this in myLot since I have been here about 3 years ago.. - Derek

Nope I usally add everyone who wants to be my friend there hasnt been a person I have rejected. I dont see why people would reject friend request which I think is pretty stupid unless if they dont care what so ever.

I think adding people as new friends on mylot is such a good way to learn about people all over the world. We all add a little something to each other by joining together here.

I am only 9 days old in this forum. I have already received several requests from several people to become my friends. I have approved them all. I don't think I will ever deny any request. One of the purposes of this forum is to make friends, lots of them.

i think i would never reject the friend requets from any one in mylot because this si the way we can get to know more poepple and discuss manythings... unlike many social networking sites in which we are lookin out for our friends and relatives mylot is about discussing many and anything so we need to accept more unknown friends also to be more informative and to be active here

It's tru ewhay you say about mylot. While others sites have you looking for people you may have lost contact with, my lot is not like that. We are here to dicuss with each other. What better way to have a discussion than with a new friend?
