Have you used your furnace yet?

I had to turn mine on last night for the first time this season. Last night it was just too chilly in the house. The thermostat read 67 degrees but the dogs had retreated to the bedroom and burrowed under the covers and I, with a sweater on, was almost shivering! So I gave in and turned on the furnace. The furnace will stay on during the next week if nothing changes, it'll be in the low to mid 60's all week here. Have you used your furnace yet? I hope natural gas prices don't soar this year, as we're supposed to have a harsh winter!

Nope! I am refusing to turn in on until October and thankfully there's only one more day to go. It was so cold last night and this morning but I still resisted. The poor cats were glued to the bed and refused to move even after we got up so I'm thinking there can't be many more furnace-less nights!

I felt so guilty when I saw poor Cookie shivering that I just had to turn it on! I'm surprised your cats didn't lay a guilt trip on you. And Cookie looks up at me with those liquid brown eyes that are so pitiful while she's shivering!

I used to live in Arizona so I know what you mean! It drove me crazy, not having 4 seasons so after my divorce I moved home to Ohio. I love it!! But cold weather is earlier than usual this year, it's been a very cool summer, a very strange year weather-wise! I hope you enjoy it in California, I know it has its advantages and people who live there love it.

Last year I didn't have to turn on the furnace till the end of October and we even had some warm days in November. I think this year will be a real freezer!

I haven't turned it on. I had an electric woodstove on a few nights, and used the electric blanket a few times though. I would really like to know how my elec bill got to be 2oo bucks when I havent used any heat or AC I need to have a talk with the elec company.
