I would have to vote for Hollywood having the scariest movies. This is only because I haven't seen too many Japanese scary films. I guess I would have to add Godzilla in that group. What other scary Japanese films are out there to see?

The ring, the grudge, the univited, all remakes of Japanese horror. I suggest Gwai wiki, or Recycle. Creepy, strange, disturbing, WTF is going on moments. Very cool.

Japanese movies I think are the best. We watched The Eye long before reading the Reporter the rights were bought for domestic production. However, the best all time scariest movie, the exorcist. Old but Good, especially if you believe demonic possession is possible. and if you take it frame by frame in some spots you can see the subliminal images they put into it to scare you even more!

I really like the Japanese movies. The fact that what happens is what happens and they don't always go into lengthy explanasions makes the movies better. I think American movie goers have been spoiled by our own movies that kinda take you by the hand and walk you through the whole thing, here's what happened. Here's why it happened. And here's the outcome. You need no imagination to watch an American horror flic. And then they go and remake the Japanese flics with complete histories and explanasions. Will they never learn?

I find the Japanese movie is scariest. The make-up and effects has a big impact to it.
