Cook Once Eat Twice

Wouldn't you like to always cook once and eat the meal twice? Well you can if you have leftovers. Don't throw your leftovers away because you can use them again either for lunch or another dinner. Leftovers last a pretty long time and you can always use the same meal and if you want something different just add something different to it and your not wasting your food and either your money. We all like to save money so why not do it by eating your leftovers rather than throwing them away. Wasting your food and not eating it means your wasting your money and really just throwing your money away.

Hi lologirl, Since weekdays only left me and my son at home, I just cook a simple dish for both of us and no more leftover food for the day time. Then for dinner time, I wil use some dishes, medium portion and most of the time, no leftover food too. Only sometimes,I will have leftover rice and soup which it can be eaten on the next day. For leftover rice, I like to cook as fried rice, with corn, luncheon meat and sausage.Fried rice is the my family's favourite dishes. As for leftover soup, I will heat up the next morning and eat with vermicelli, that will be breakfast for me and my son.I always cook more when come to Chicken herbal soup.that is also my family's favourite soup. We like to served it with vermicelli. I never throw away leftover food,it is so wasted and that's make me not to cook so many dishes in a day.I always stick to one soup, one vegetable and one meat for a day.

We actually deliberately cook a large amount so that we can freeze some in a ziploc container and my husband can take it for lunches.

Hi, lologirl. I seldom cook much, normally we do not have leftovers. It's always enough for us to finish the dishes. However, if there were leftovers, then i would also keep for lunch or dinner. I would not want to waste the food. Wasting food also means wasting money. Have a nice day and happy mylotting..

We always do that. My mom cooks in the morning and it'll be for the rest of the day since we have no time for cooking. We're all busy in the family and we can't afford to hire a housemaid or buy cooked food. We're trying to save money and time as well. :)

If I have the leftovers after the breakfast or lunch, if I don't like to have the leftovers, I will throw it out, but if I like it, I will keep it for dinner, because as you said, wasting food on equal to waste our money.

We always save our leftovers. IT's nice to have something to eat later. My Mom is diabetic and sometimes she has to eat something in the middle of the night and leftovers are a lifesaver for her because she has something ready to eat.

yes its actually a gr8 idea for not so competent cooks like me. i cook rice a little more than required for lunch and use it for dinner too.it saves me time and also i can concentrate more on the curry im going to prepare as accompaniment at dinner.

Very true. My husband usually takes any left overs we have to work for lunch. When I clean up after dinner I just pack the food right up then and there for him for the next day. It is really easy on me that way. I also like to make other things if there is a good amount of meat left like chicken noodle soup with left over chicken, beef stew with roasts, and chili with left over ground beef or hamburger soup is also really good too.

Well, I certainly agree with you. Here in our house what we do is that we cook the rice during the morning. The rice is good for lunch and dinner. Not only is it good until dinner because I put the left over rice on the fridge so that I can make fried rice the next morning. not only does it saves time cooking but also it save the consumption of gas. lol =) We should all be practical especially now that we are in times of crisis.

i do this a lot. i live alone so it is more economical to cook once a day than to cook 3 times a day. besides, i do not really mind eating leftovers. it saves me a lot of money and time too.

We always do this. After dinner, if there are potoates left, and veg, meat, (there usually is), i make a Casserole with it, the next day. I may add a few things, to bulk it out, but i always make a casserole with our leftovers, and everyone enjoys it, and it is another day's meal, without having to spends extra
