DO you Think Mylot is a Waste of Time?

NOTE: Read the Whole Discussion before start Answering...
I know this isn't a new issue. when it was just my old account, i saw a discussion about an article made in AC about my-lot being a waste. just because they are good with writing doesn't mean they should just have to insult the site that people enjoy so much, why ambition to be a writer if they can't even stay here for a while.

2."the second writer claimed she earned one dollar and fifty nine cents after three hours, but for her it wasn't enough either. kinda big to us but too little for her.

ps: these issues in their articles where made back in the 2006 to 2007.
These aren't make up beliefs,these were real views but i just read from the other site from these bloggers but they were few people think mylot had somethign to for them to get busy with. and i hope these isn't the reasons why mylot's population is growing slowly.
What do you think? Is it a Waste of Time....

Hi Letran, I might have wrongly presumed that something like Mylot would be a place for teenagers but that is not the case, and I presume if there are a lot of teenagers on here they mainly gravitate towards other teenagers and chat about teenage things.
When I look at my friends list a lot of them are women of a similair age group so we have things in common, but there are other much younger friends for different cultures which I really enjoy conversing with.
I don't think it's a waste of time, I think if you can bond with like minded people it is fun and I wouldn't mylot if I didn't as the money is little by the time it has undergone three currency conversions.
And I think it would be rather cool if I could make the acquaintance of a fanatical terrorist on here but if I did then I would probably presume it was a teenager posing as one.

I agree with your statements. i just can't believe these articles still exist when ever i search them.there are people here younger than us but most are also matured people and they're topics aren't really as easy as every one thinks. some times i just choose to ignore them and look on the easier one1 person likes this

That's the thing with Mylot, one can post seriously or with perfect frippery depending on the mood. Sometimes all I want is a bit of light hearted fun then indulge in pe for a couple of hours, other times there are serious issues. I have been most pleasantly suprised though that two of the people I most enjoy convering with on here are both young men and the age doesn't matter at all as without fail they are two of the most interesting contributors here. But how likey would we be to have had coffee and a conversation together in the first place because of that disparity in age.

You're so right on that one, Thea. I have enjoyed some brilliant interactions with much younger people, purely because of what they have to say on here. If you saw these same people at a party or in a cafe you would assume - quite wrongly, as has been demonstrated - that you would have nothing in common and so miss out on some very interesting conversations and debates.

Think those person is telling that because they are greedy not a writer. If they really a good write they should appreciate others work then give them a good response to make people learn from them and be good writer too...
In my understanding writer is not only you are good of English but you are good in critics and appreciate others. What you can write as articles isn't that appreciation or criticism?

They wrote against mylot, because of greediness I'm sure. Because they can't make more money here they give bad impressions about the people here. If they want to make more money here they need to stay up to date and give more time as they do in AC...

hi ! i think mylot is not a waste of time , because it is a way of entertainment and sharing ideas with others that are different from you , mylot is considered to be a part of our hobbies , so i don't think it will be one day a waste of time . it isn't just a hobby but it is something from which you can gain a lot of things such as friends . knowledge . information , ways of life .. you can also know about other cultures and share your ideas with others in a lot of domains ...
so for me , mylot isn't a waste of time at all.

That's right shalk it's a way of new social network entertainment and also a part of sharing ideas with other people. it's also part of my hobby almost every single day. it's fun when we all talk to our friends and they respond to us whether we like the opinion or not. so far, i have seen other ptp but this is a lot okay to me.

Mylot for me is a site where I could fully exercise my mind to think and not to become dull. Then, I learn a lot from the discussion of other people. The first time I sign up I am not serious on this site. It is like let see and try testing for me. Then, I started to like it although their are a lot of detractors which in every business they are abounds. So far, I could not really promise myself to stay here forever as I have other plan too. I may not be forever attending discussion as my plan changes but I would try to log in here but not regularly. This is like a diversion to me as long as it is fun for me to do my things here I stay but not for a lifetime..

For me it´s not a waste of time and I´m no teenager. And what if I were? Are teenagers second class people? Isn´t it important that young people learn to express their thoughts?
If I find a post that does not interest me, I just don´t answer. That´s that. And the sentence about Bin Laden is a laugh! As id Bin Laden would have time to give our recipes, talk about everyday happenings in a virtual site!
I wouldn´t read or worry about those comments. They are inaccurate and quite childish themselves.
Is it a waste of time that I´m in Chile, South America and I can talk with chinese, indians, american, australians, philipines etc?

internet connection in the computer since he's living in the cave or something. me
too, i only seldom respond to one or two topic per page but before i usually
responds to all topics from top to bottom per page. I agree we can talk to every
people here straight from accross the world unlike in other social networking sites
where most people are friends only with their countries and less talk with other
people.

No, I think it's fun. A lot of people come here just to make money, but that's not what it's for. I admit, money is nice, but it's mostly (for me, anyway) about friendships and learning. If you're here expecting to make lots of money here then you're barking up the wrong tree. Go get a job at McDonald's.

Everybody has the right to spend their free time however they want. This includes spending it on on mylot or not. So as long as it FREE time that is spent, I do not think it is wasted, especially if the person enjoys it. On top of it, not all discussions are 'childish'. Mylot is a huge community composed of variety of different people and characters. There are a lot of discussions that would make you think about some issues, from others you could learn something new and informative and some will just cheer you up and make you laugh.
Regarding that Bin Laden comment, I just think it is hilarious nonsense

have no right to judge since i wasn't around during 2006 and 2007 here so i didn't know what was mylot back then. but when i first went to this site years ago, it was a lot more different than before. frankly, it's a lot more complicated now, but it's good because a lot of users are active than before. 1 person likes this

I am not that stupid to spent almost five to 8 hours in a social networking sites that doesn't pay at all, that would be total waste of elecrict usage, except that time i made videos, but this site is truly amazing. you know i checked other networking sites out there that doesn't pay, some are popular but not as beneficial as mylot itself..

NO offense to all you devoted Mylot users out there, but they do have a point still to this day. This site is not for writers, as you aren't getting paid what you are worth. ON the other hand, it is a place to talk about anything you want, and get paid like a forum.
I agree the pay is not good, but it is better than forums who pay nothing! Working hours and hours for $1 is certainly not worth it in my opinion, but hey, that's how much poeple in countries such as India, China make in a day !!
Overall, this site is for people actually getting some real money is people in third worl countries, as that $10 could last them for the month!

not a waste of time for me. i don't care what they say. i respect their opinion. per my experience with mylot... i am having fun while learning and earning. i am gaining friends and relieving some of my stress in mylot. so what's the problem. nobody is forcing us to be on mylot. the earning might be too small but the sharing and experience of interacting with people form all walks of life local and international is something that money can't replace/pay.
i am happy with mylot!

I'm back again!
Yeah I'm with you, my lotting is definitely not a waste of time for me either. I might be occupied with work for some time but when I find an idle time the first thing that comes to my mind is mylotting. I never think of the earnings what matters most to me is the experience of being relieved when depressed by way of sharing my insights and even expanding my relationship with people I hardly know. I find it so blissful when somebody appreciates my views in my responses to some discussions. Hence, I don't really mind what negative comments other says about mylotting... I'm enjoying here!

I don't think it is a waste of time at all, in fact I enjoy it every time I get a chance to come in here. I believe the people just were having more fun watching TV, and I hate to say it but that will not pay your bills, or even help you with any problems with life. There are many people here who are not in there teens. I believe if mylot is a waste of my time then its an enjoyable waste. Its a lot more enjoyable then even TV to me. Plus the TV doesn't have friend's for me to talk to.

I agree with regards to TV, and what about video games too, specially in the internet. i have seen teens now that plays new kind of online games every three months and spending it in some game that doesn't pay them. even in face book, they're games there, they earned money but can they convert it into cash? i hope more people will be open-minded some day about mylot. have a great day..

Well for me i use MyLot as a time waster - right now i'm at the movies about to watch Gamer and just waiting for it to start. But i do not think it is a waste of time, sure you may not earn money off of it, but its the same thing as runescape, world of warcraft, yahoo answers they are fun recreational devices but this one is aimed for creative responses and earning a little bit of revenue off of it at the same time.

Hey Letran, What do they know? If Mylot was a waste why are ther so many people focusing their views, and opinions. There's a wealth of knowledge, and concerned mylotters helping mylotters. I've learned so much from this sharing sight, and I can hardly wait to get in from work, and go traveling on mylot, to see what's up. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't think that myLot is a waste of time at all. I have been involved in many valuable discussions on here. If there is a discussion about which I have no knowledge or have nothing to say, then I don't participate in it. There are lots of choices, some are valuable and some are not so valuable. It is up to each writer and reader to decide how and when we get involved. OK, the money isn't a huge amount, but that isn't why I am on myLot. - Derek

Well, those writers thought they are wasting time. but i think they thought that way simply because of money and that's what got them to criticize the site. well, money was never huge but it's a motivatonal factor for the user to be active and continously have fun. i think for me that is the essence of mylot. thank you so much for your response.

i don't think it's a waste of time if your here for an info exchange and not the money!some people here are only here because they think that they can get some easy money and don't care about chatting with others about things that might be of the same instrest to both of them.there are some people that post too much about things that they really don't care about but hope others will respond to their postings so they can get paid.who cares if somebody misspells a word or two and maybe they forget to put in commas and periods just as long as it's a posting that is something that others might be instrested in.i know of one person that posts to no end and thinks that others should respond to his postings when he never responds to anybody elses postings,i sent him a message about it and if he wants to unfriend me that would be great as i'm sick of getting messages telling me that he's posted another mindless post,when it comes to people like him i don't need friends like that as i have many other friends on other sites that are friends just because they like to chat with me because i don't sugar-coat things.i wish they would go to a point system instead of paying people and maybe some of the cash-hogs would leave and let the site for those of us that are here for chatting.if this offends anybody well that's too dang bad because that how life is and maybe they should go to the cheese site then they would have something to go along with their whine!get it whine and cheese.i look at postings and if something catches my eye i respond to it even if it's not something that is important to me at the moment but might have been in the past or would be in the future.so with being on over a hundred other sites i choose to drop in and check out the site for things of instrest and not for a mindless posting.

Hi! Let me try to answer point by point that you have provided:-
[b]1. This writer should be informed that myLot is not an ideal platform for writers. It is a forum where the members are from different countries and English is not their first language. Therefore, the comments might seem a little childish sometimes because of the language barrier, but as long as there is a point in that discussion, it is not a waste of time.
2. If this writer wants to compare with the fix payment rate she writes for an article in some writing sites, she shouldn't. myLot is rewarding its members for their participation. It is not a 'job' where the members get paid for a certain amount of money.
3. Hahahaaa... this ridiculous. This writer should be checked up. I have no further comment.[/b]

Mylot is to writing what harlequin romances or trashy paperbacks are to Shakespeare and Dickinson lol! It includes all sorts of fun interesting things, but it isn't what most people would call 'serious literature' and that's okay. I'm not here for serious literature. Are you kidding me?

I think it is really unfair for some people to pass judgments too easily, especially from them basing on three grounds. first, they haven't spent enough time in mylot to really make a conclusive statement that it is a waste of time. how can you say that when you haven't even had enough time here, right? second, it is such a blatant display of arrogance. one of those writers in AC might consider over $1 daily earnings as not enough, while others cherish that extra earnings they get from an online paying site like mylot. and finally, i am a contributor at AC myself and I have never been satisfied with the earnings from that site, so what makes them think that AC is any better than mylot? After all, if I do get paid on the 15th, the earnings i accumulated in the last 3 months is like 8times more than my total earnings in AC for over a year. So, how does that compare? tsk

i have been a member of AC for nearly a year and a half and have been paid only once. this is because getting payment is difficult to reach and at clout 4, i only get $1.50 for every 1,000 views to my AC page. and god knows, unless you are an seo expert, getting as much views on your page can be really tough. but with mylot, i can earn that easily with a writing task, in fact it is more. to understand it quite easily, writing an article would take more or less 30 minutes, while reaching $1.50 in AC could take you months. that's a landslide, right there! now, which would you pick over the other? no brainer right?

It's completely unfair for those who loved mylot so much. probably these were the banned and deleted users who was mylot users before. mylot does pay on the 15th. am no sure site like AC but in here they are true to their word about getting active all the time and getting paid by the site.how does it compare? i never ahd an AC account,i had it once but never use it.
