undivided india

I and my cousin were discussing if it would have been better for India if it had been undivided. I think that it was good that India got divided. Else we would have to deal with never ending riots, terrorist incursions on the western border, instability. What are you thoughts?

Since India is already divided I don't think there is so much point of discussing as our discussion will not undo the historical move. But if I had the choice to decide the fate now I would not divide India into two states. Terrorist incursion takes place because Pakistan thought that they deserve to have Kashmir with them. Riots do not take place just because of religious differences. There are other factors that generate riots; and its more to do with social and political equation than religious division. Had India been stronger then India would have been stronger and would have more say in international politics. Taliban would have risen had Pakistan not been there ie. had India been undivided. That's my take.

I understand history cannot be undone. I like to way you have put if India wouldn't have divided, but the questions was should India be divided considering the circumstances of that time.

Well, my answer would be 'no'. I think we reaping all these terrorist attacks and riots and so on because of the division. We don't have to get into this competition of making bombs too had India not been divided. And that way our economy would have been better.

This partition has hurt India a lot. India is facing lot of threats even if we are not inferring in the issues of Pakistan. But Pakistan is always trying to interfer in the matters of India. Promoting terrorists in their country and when world is against terrorism, Pakistan is not able to do anything but fighting for freedom from terrorists in their own country. Partition is happened this was big mistake and if it does not happen the western part will remain just like east. But due to this partition India has to split Bengal in two one is the West Bengal and other one has become a country that is Bangladesh.
Final conclusion is that corrupt politicians would not have managed even if the country is not split into 2. Let us hope that whatever happened is only for our good.
