why do we tend to read celebrities news even if not interested?

hi friend,have you ever noticed that why do we always go for celebrity or stars gossip.is this in our gene or some special hormones are released in our body which fascinate us to read or just to have a glance at the news.This goes from our childhood to adulthood we rarely miss celebrity news even if we ignore it after knowing it but damn it we go for it..why?why?why?
