Not even a cent !!!!

Most of my friends know that I have been away from Mylot for about five months and I have missed them dearly and now I am happy to be back. The fact of the matter is that I have lost my passion for writing here and in addition to that ideas havent been flowing as they used to .However I am back now and hoping to stay for a while even though I really dont know for how long as I may just go off on another journey to discover new passions again. I have an issue though with mylot and that is for teh period I have been away ,I noticed that despite getting a few responses (thanks to my devoted friends stiil seeking out my discussions) I didnt earn a single cent!!! and this had led me into the conclusion that mylot stops calculating your earnings if you are inactive for a while even though you still get responses. Has anyone else noticed this ? and do you think it is fair ?

Even though you have been here for quite some time and have a large number by your name it is very sad to see that you have not realised that we only earn here for our own work. You post, you earn - others post they earn - simple! If you have a discussion which receives 10 responses or 100 it makes no difference at all to YOUR earnings. You will earn by commenting on them not just because others posted them. They will earn for that, not you. Your topic has confirmed what many of us have been saying for many months now but it is sad that you were not aware of it

This is from the FAQs: "If you earned nothing, then you didn’t post anything during the time period in question" : http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#16

I know you have been here for a long time and I feel awful in being the bearer of such bad news So many Lotters are unaware, just like you, that they only earn for their own work on here. There are many of us who state this everyday - now you can confirm this in future discussions where you see users enquiring about how they earn. That way you can turn your disappointment into something positive and earn from it Thank you for the BR - but it does have a bad taste to it as I know you are a senior Lotter even though your number does not reflect it. Happy fun posting making up for your losses

I do hope you would find new passions and topics here in mylot itself…as it is so many oldies have left and both the quality and diversity of discussions is sometimes pathetic, to say the least. Ummm, I have not really been away from mylot that long so this never happened to me…however, I do think mylot was within its right as they pay you for your participation continuous participation. So I do think they wait for sometime and if they think you are inactive, they don’t update your earnings. Now that you are back, do see if those cents are credited to your account now.

You do not earn here for what others post. If you do not type and submit yourself then you earn nothing at all.

Thank you for your kind words and words of encouragement sudiptacallingu but mysdianit is right and he has quotes to prove how mylot calculates earnings.Like you said I need to find new discussions to respond to and start my mylot account ticking over ,I guess i kind of hoped that they would recognise work done even if you are not active

actually it is something MyLot started when you were gone. They ill take any monies you earn away if you do not log in every so often. Something like once a month. I understand they doing that. As it saves them money. Plus encourages members to log in each month. Do I agree with it or like it? No. But I do understand the reasning behind it.

Ok I guess much has changed since i left because I didnt know that .I see what they are trying to do but that is unfair ,they shouldnt take money you earned its like saying that they are taking away payment for work you started on someones lawn but because you took a a one month break you loose all that money and it cant be that you loose all that work .Mylot should be careful this measure does backfire and tehy end up loosing all its members or more of its members

Rusty where is that information posted in the Terms? MyLot do NOT take earnings away from us except for deducting earnings for any deleted discussions or if we do not log in (even without posting) for three months/90days in which case theyalso state they could cancel our account.

Good morning Ronnyb, I have never been inactive on mylot since i started but no, i wouldn't think that was fair at all. If u had reasons for making money whether u were active or not that amount should have shown up on your page,

Mysdiana has clarified the situation for you very well and we have all learnt from it, I think. I am glad that you are back and I hope you find your inspiration again. We all have periods when the ideas don’t flow as easily as they used to. I look forward to reading your posts again!

Yes, I have noticed this even if I am not as active just for a couple of days that you cannot earn anything here. I think personally even if we may not always like it, it is due to they feel the Earnings here does need to be rewarded to the people who are still actively posting here. This way they can only reward those people and not have to worry about the many others who might being still responded to as in discussions, but not active here anymore as well.

Welcome back to myLot. I don't think it's fair if you started discussions, did get responses but weren't paid for them. It should be an ongoing earning experience even if the member is away from myLot. I haven't had this happen to me since I've been an active member for 2 1/2 years. I joined 3 years ago but didn't do anything on myLot for almost 6 months. I actually forgot about the site and went on with my other sites online. Decided to try it again and learned to really like this site.

As far as I understand once you post a discussion you do not get any earning until you have had 2 responses and that is all you get. It doesn't matter if you get 50 more. Of course I could be wrong but I could also be right.

Ok thanks for your response ,I will check it out but there are times when I believe that you may be right because there are times when I swear that I get many responses but it doesnt reflect in my earnings

hi ronnyb, you actually earn from your referrals. you earn 25% of their mylot earnings. the reason why you didn't see a single cent in your account is that you have been inactive for 5 months. as per mylot terms and policies, if you are inactive for 3 months, then your earnings will be forfeited. you can refer to the "terms" link at the bottom of mylot page for this info. :) hope this helps.

Wow everyday I learn more about mylot practices and terms and needless to say i am not entirely impressed .If what you are saying is true then i guess I will have to make sure I dont get inactive for three months ,twe maybe but definitely not three lol. Thanks you for your answer

yea i heard of such cases too. Although i think it is not the fairest thing to do, but i feel that should be their way of keeping mylot members active.

I was not around as much during the summer because my son was out of school and we were not home as much --I tried to get on, but it was hard somedays and weeks...an I didnt make payout for almost 2 months because of it, but I am back to rebuilding up my earnings, making payouts again, making discussions and making more friends.... it is great to see you back and I hope that with that you will start to see your earnings increase, the discussions to soar with your participation, and mostly that we just have plain old fun here!!!! I wont comment on how we dont make anything if we are not here...since that has been pointed out to you already, but look at it this way now that you have had a rest, time to recoup and build up all kinds of things to discuss here --now you can watch your earnings soar!!!!! so its great to see you back, cant wait to have more discussions and have a great day...Happy Mylotting!!!!

I agree with ms. diana (?) you post you earn, so even if others respond to your post, you will not receive anything.

I have notice some things but I don't know if its about you beening inactive. I think most of your money comes from you responding.

That happened to me too when I left it for few months...Its totally not fair..
