Money is no longer important to me? How much importance do you give to it?

just weeks ago i was planning on buying cameras, cellphones, ipods. i was planning to buy them from the money i saved from online earnings. but now i got to the point of realization that money does not buy happiness, I don't think i will ever need them any more. with no one to share them with. i don't think i will enjoy using them alone. it will just be a waste of money for me. Instead i just want to save it only and use them for very important things. i don't plan to buy new shoes, dress , shirt, shorts, sandals, perfume or any thing else. as long as i have food on the table i will be happy. though the food are just ordinary food. i don't care if i rarely eat outside. i won't be able to go to other country and just stay here in my country forever, i don't care if i will not be able to take tour in some of beautiful places in my country, i will contented to be stuck in my own city. So my plan to get rich are over. if that does happen good but i am not looking forward to it. i will be contented the way i am now. i don't think that any material things will make me happy at all. all i just want to do is whatever money i saved i will just share it with people in need around me. i may not be able to give a big amount but in my own little way i will be able to help those people who have a better chance to have a good life than me. i don't think that i will need my money any more. i tried and tried for two decades to make my life a normal one, a normal kid, a normal teen and now a normal adult but nothing seemed to be normal to me. all i could say, i give up. whatever good in my life specially monetary, i will just say that it is no longer mine to own and just plan to share most of them to some people i know. maybe that way my life will be happier.

hello there hotsummer! Yes, money doesn't really make you happy, but you know what as of the moment I'm really trying everything to earn. I have a lot of plans in the future and for my family. We even plan of having our small business grow, hopefully if God permits :D. It's really funny realizing that money is not important, but i can't take it away from me not wanting to have a lot of money! it's not because I'm not contented of what God has given me, but I just want to experience the life i have never really experience and of course for me to be able to help others. :D Regards --- angellyril!

I totally agree with you... but as of the moment I should work hard for myself and for my family. Good if i can make, not maybe at the top, but at least i could straggle my family from poverty. and if not, it would still be okay, anyway I will always have them :D

yea me too i wanted to experience some things like traveling but sometime some things in life will bring us to a place where we will realize that we can still be happy with basic things as long as there are people who love us.

We do need money for a lot of things. It is important because we need to have it to put food on the table, feed our kids and us, clothe everyone, keep a roof on our heads and educate the kids. Having enough money is all we need to meet these basic needs. We don't want more but money is what we use as a form of exchange to meet our everyday needs. Hope you find someone really special to share your life.

yes i just plan to have money to to have food on the table. but not any more on buying new cellphone or things like that. i am happy with my basic phone for text only. i don't envy any more those who have high end phones. i have learned to be content with what i have already. and so i think that i will not buy anything any more for this year except for every day foods and some basic things like shampoo and detergents and other household needs. but beside that nothing more.

Money is not everything. But at this point in time, money is needed for survival. Well, you can buy happiness with money, but only temporary happiness. I see your point and I guess, the key to being happy is being content of what you have. Saving money is really good. You can never be sure there will be a need for such. But of course, if there is an opportunity to gain more money, then why not. Nobody said that its not good. Its great. The important thing is how we use the money.

yes i think that we should use money for the sole purpose of survival and supply our basic needs and be happy and thankful when we have enough money at least to support that. and if we don't have money to buy our luxuries that we should not feel bad about it.

Hi hotsummer Good to hear from you again. Are you having a good day? I surely hope so. I too came to that reasoning a few months back. When my hubby got laid off it brought out a lot of issues on my part. This was the first time that he has ever been laid off and what a eye opener it was for me. I too now know that I am blessed to have the food, and all the things that we have to have for survival. I know that the other stuff is no longer important to me. Isn't it funny how just one day we reallize what is real...Have a good day and keep smiling..

truly that contentment is the best way to be happy in life. as long as we are healthy and can eat normally though not the best food out there we should be contented in life.

Hi hotsummer, wht you said is absolutly right. Money doesn't give happiness. The only purpose of earning is to lead our life happily. So with out happiness, what is the use of earning?? Anyways I am very happy that you realized the truth. earnings are meant only for our well being no need to sacrify our happiness.

yeah when we are already happy i think money does not mean any thing already. we can just be content with as little as we have as long as we are happy in life.

Hi hotsummer, I don't give much importance to having a lot of money. I am getting by and my family are grown and working. You are right in saying that money can't buy happiness because many rich people are very unhappy. I wouldn't mind being able to help my kids pay off their home or something like that, and I would like to give some to charity but other than that, I have no need for it. I am not a person who enjoys travelling so I wouldn't want it for that reason. There is no reason to own a lot of expensive clothes when so many in the world are hungry and cold and I think that I would just feel guilty. Too much money has been known to ruin lives. Blessings.

many are going hungry as you said. and many are experiencing tragedies. and i just count myself blessed no matter how little i have in life. i think i already have all i need in life, i mean materially speaking, though most of them are just basic things in life for me to live a decent life. besides that i don't need to have the latest and the trendiest gadgets and accessories that are available out there. as long as i have a basic every day dress to wear and clean water to drink than i will be happy already. thanks for the response.

Well, I certainly need a lot more of it in my life as things are very tight right now and you need a certain amount of money in order to do certain things. Without money well, things would be very difficult. I guess it all depends on how we use money. I think that we can make it grow for us if we invest it wisely, I don't have enough of the stuff though to make a decision like that. I am content to a certain extent and I'm not focusing on becoming rich, I'm not sure that this will ever happen but then again you just don't know what is around the corner. Andrew

yeah i think we need money for things we need in life. but i have just decided that i don't it any money. as long as my family will help me out to have some food on the table. that will be enough. i will just help my family in what they need. but if i can find work , why not, but i will just use the money to give to my family and not to buy things for myself. and if i can still help other people then i can extend my help to them also. but for me i will just be happy with my 3 jeans as long as it looks fine and some few shirts that i can wear every day. and some pair of sandals. and that is enough for me.

I already know the fact that money can't give you every thing especially happiness. I have seen many people with lots of money but somewhere inside them they know that they are not happy. But you should also know that in the current world money is very important. Getting rich doesn't give you happiness and I am glad that you realized it sooner than later. Try to be happy with you have and then you will see that you are getting richer. I consider myself to be the richest person in the whole world (not financially) because I have a family which loves me and friends who are close to me. These things matter more than simple money. Life is more happier when there is someone to share it with.

I also realize that when the typhoon hits material things can easily washed out and destroyed in one day. Many people realize that too that you don't need to buy expensive things to be happy because it is not permanent. God can get it from you so what's the use of buying expensive things only to brag to others. Instead of buying new things I think you need to use it to help others or save it for the rainy days.

yeah that is true. that is why i don't think i need to bother to save up more money to buy expensive things. i just lost interest in them now. it just opened my eye. and i know now it is just futile to keep buying more things to make myself happy it will just not work actually so might as well not buy them at all.

money is just a necessity..that what I believe and always will be..though my up bringing is what i call as a 'humble' one, still its not an excuse for me to put money over love... I'm with you in this one :) money's not real..it seems to be, but its not..

yeah money seems to make us feel life is all about money and yes it is not really about it. it is something else like love and living peacefully with other people and to help other people out in need as we are all brothers and sisters.

I am happy to know that you realized money is not important than happiness. Actually love is more important than happiness. If you care someone and share with someone you may feel happy just because happy comes from love. we cannot buy love with money shows love is more important than money. so be always a loving one.

i know that love is more important but i have no luck in love that was why i just put my hope on material things to fill that void inside and give me some sense of happiness. but it does no good. whatever happiness i get on things i buy it was just so short-lived. but since i don't see any good thing with the money i get online. i mean i don't think i will be able to enjoy them at all. i might as well donate them to some people. or things like that.

I don't give important to money. I just give significant to the things I buy when I got money or receive money. I always value thing I buy for money not giving value to money. I am always happy of what I only have and I always take effort to earn more to buy something which I have to give value.

it is good that you are not much worried about money. as it is better to be content with whatever we have in life.
