Summer sales has just ended and I know more and more shoppers are happily shopping during sale. Do you like to shop more during sale? Why and why not? Shopping during a sale requires thought, patience and time. It may seem like you're simply shopping, but you actually have things to think about and decisions to make. You shop because you need those stuff or just because there are sale and you can get to pay less? Do you think it is worth to shop during sale? I have so much to say about shopping during sale! Will try to share mine when I reply back to your response! Hope to get your thought and share more.

During festival season, a number of sales items will be there. But though i love to buy a sale item, i will buy only if I am in need of them. Secondly, if the percentage of the sale item is more, I.e. 60% or 70%, then I won't buy, if that item is a cloth related like sarees or bedsheets or draperies etc. Because no seller will sell his wares valued $100 for a mere $30 or $40 unless it is very old or lying in the godown for a very long time. Such items do not last long. If it is plastic or glass items, then i will think of it, if I really needed.

Hi Vathsala, Thanks for your response. I am sure there will be some real good bargain around when come to sale. I think sale of 60% to 70% off is a good buy. I buy my bedsheets set during sale. It is about 60% off . I don't see there are selling old stocks for the bedsheets. In fact, I can recognize the bedsheets was selling there 2 month ago. Sometimes, there is some new arrivals so the 2 months old stocks are getting sale so it can be move out faster. If happen I buy the bedsheets 2 months ago at normal price, I think it is very unfair for me when it comes to sale of 60% just in 2 months time.

Hi again, Yeah, 60% off is indeed a good buy. They do this way. Once they have a new design arrival, there will have the previous month stocks on sale. If happen it is the presale ( first day of the sale), it actually selling at 60% +10%. Hence I always get mine on the presale.

Hello Celineml, welcome to Mylot! Glad that you like shopping! Yeah , you are right, I believe every mummy will shop to their children more than themselves. What you like to shop for your baby? When it comes to sale, it is really a good bargain to shop for kids. As normal we don't worry kids to wear off season cloth. I like to buy cloth for my daughter. I just see girls can get to have more clothes than boys as girls is more vain! LOl. I like to shop for some brands like Poney, Kiko, Gap and Osh Kosh! These brands give great bargain when sale. What brand do you like?

Hello vingyan06, When I was in my 20's, I loved to shop more during sale. I can get more stuff and good bargain too. Well, I am not that old now but I prefer to shop when I need to. I don't wait for shopping sale anymore. I hate the queue and it seems that I can't get what I want whenever I shop during sale! I feel like nowadays, shopping malls have a sale throughout the year too!

Hello gr8life, No doubt shopping during sale need more patient and time. More ever the malls seems to be crowded and the queue at the cashier counter is very bad. How about the traffic and parking bay? If there is a real sale in the department store, especially on the first day of the sale it tend to attract more shoppers. Once in a year certain department will have its member's Day sale for its fellow members. I like to shop on Member day because it is a real bargain,

I usually don't shop when there's a sale because that is the time when merchants sell only items that they can't sell with the regular price. In short, most of the items are those that people don't usually want but just buy during sale because they are so cheap. Of course, there are some exceptions, and there really are merchants who sell good items at a lower price, but I usually find it difficult to find those items.

Hello Angelajoy, Thanks for your response. Yes, true enough! Deep discount sales are designed to get products moving at the end of a season to save the retailer money, as shelf space and even warehouse storage space are premium real estate and cost the retailer more money. So shoppers need to beware to check which is having the great deals and don't go too excited when get to see the big sale or big clearance banners.

vingyan.. I don't think any female that don't enjoy shopping... nowadays, even men do have their fair share of shopping. As for me, I normally do windows shopping during those off peak period, and wait for the major sales that happen such as Mega Sales, Festive season Sales and so on... I know that sometimes those item we are eye-ing may not be available for sale during the sales period, but some other items are available. And I will also do the price comparison, in order to ensure that the sales are genuine. And if I know those prices are at the bottom rock, I will start to stock up as well.. just recent, some baby wipes are on sales, and its one of the cheapest. I got to know that this is the final batch, therefore I stock a dozen in my house, and I think my baby can use for a year!

Hello cwong! Thanks for your response! I can see almost all the women like shopping! More ever women go crazy while sale or clearance. LOL. But man like shopping too? Sad to say my hub is not fancy in shopping at all. For me, I will stock up like you too if there is a real and big bargain around. Just few months back Isetan is having a promotion for a disposable diapers. It sells much much more cheaper than usual... So I did stock up a dozen at home too. And I am kinda excited since last week when I received the latest newsletter from Isetan. go through the newsletter again and again so I wouldn't miss out any good bargain. I even circled the stuff that I think of want to buy... Tomorrow is Isetan Member's day! Hurray! It is the once a year sale and everything is selling cheaper than normal sale. Even the baby formula that my kids taking is on sale too. I think I will have a big hole in my pocket tomorrow!

During Sales in the mall, its really requires with more patience and time, bumping with other people. There are times that the items are limited. And of course, it really do savings in the pocket. In my case, I really don't go for sale in the mall. But there are times that they have sales in there items even though the whole mall is not, so I really prefer this. Or even just a sales in a boutique. I could still save my money.

Hello Feodda, Thanks for your response. I admit I love to shop more during sale ! If the sale is a real sale. you can actually get to save a lot. Just 2 days ago there was the member's day sale for Isetan here at my city. This is the sale that held once in a year. Members of Isetan get to join the sale only, no outside shoppers. There are certain on sale items that very worth to buy. More ever members get to receive additional discount of 20% more. I did go to the member day sale and it took more than half an hour for me to get a parking space. The whole store is full with people. It really need more patient to get change at the fitting room, queue up at the cashiers. If you are late, most of the good bargain would gone. I bought a shoe rack for $10 and the normal price is $20. I bought some clothes for my kids which is 70% off.

I don't like to shop all that much anyway, but if I want things, I have to shop and sales would be the only time I would do that except in a dire emergency :-) I try hard not to buy anything I don't need whether it is on sale or not, but sometimes there is a fine line between wanting and needing something. I think maybe you are a frugal shopper, too.

Hi there, Thanks for your response. In fact, I am not the type of frugal shopper. If I want something badly, I will too go for it without getting it during sale. One of my dear friend don't like to shop during sale. She said all the sale items especially clothes are pass season products. But for me, I don't bother about the season of clothes as long as it is nice fit well on me.

Hello vingyan06! It would be fun to go shopping during sale. However, there definitely will be a lot of people in the mall or in the department store during a sale. I would only take chances if and when what I am intending to buy is really necessary. Otherwise, I will just have to go shopping when the sale is over and when there will be lesser people around.

There are so many sale event out there. you just have to know which one that really a bargain. Since i work in retail, pretty much I learn which one which. So I do love shopping when the "real" sale event come around. Why? I found out all those clearance bargain can really reach the low price it feels like you "legally steal" them !

Hello Ibuemma, Thanks for your response! It is true, we have to know which one that really a great bargain. I would say not all the retailers provide a real sale for shoppers. So please shop wisely. For me, I always say there is a different between sale and clearance. So how to shop during sale and clearance is very important. Firstly, most of the sales are simply done to generate hype for a featured item and convince the consumer to buy, but the savings are often minimal. 10 to 20 percent off is really not a bargain at all, but 40 percent off or more can be a great deal for an item that you need. Any how shopping during sales and clearances is an excellent way to save money on the items you need and splurge on the items you want, minus the guilt.

I like to shop during sale but only if the item is there on my list otherwise i will just buy the things i need. There are offers like bringing old things and getting cash back for it.Later with those coupons we can buy the things we like. The rates offered over there are very good and people flood a store here in Mumbai to give their old things. It is called big bazaar.During a sale there are crowds in the shop as people are attracted by the prices. It is worth to shop during the sale as we may never be able to buy those items at the same price again.

if i have money during on sale, i would love shopping... then if i've got no money to shop even if it's on sale, then i would rather stay home than envied the items on sale which i couldn't afford to buy even if it's having a big discount.

I always prefer to shop during sale period because I will get things at a cheaper rate & hence I can save money. Most of the clothes & other accessories are kept for the sales period & after all,a penny you save is a penny you earn. Happy Lotting

Yes, shoppers tend to shop more during sales, men and ladies alike. Who don't? Everyone likes sales. During the great sales for Jusco members only it is really really cheap then my wife and I shop more. We buy the essentials first. Then we may buy those that fancy us later.

Hi vingyan, I am a sale shopper as I want to take advantage of the low prices offered. Actually, I call it as luxury shopping as this is the only time I can buy the things that are not really needed but wanted. I don't usually shop when it's not on sale except for basic needs like food and groceries. Good Day!

Yes, I like to shop during sales. I love to save money. Sometimes I can shop during sales and use coupons and get the item(s) for really cheap. I like buying clothes for my son when they are on sale. I bought him some shirts this past weekend that were only $3. I love sales.

I actually don’t like it. I don’t shop a lot but I sometimes like to walk around in the mall. During sale, malls are jampack with people looking for items. Well it’s a good thing you can get things on a cheaper price but I just don’t like being jammed with people.

when i was single and still has a job i like shopping during sales. however, things are different now and i got to learn things regarding shopping: 1. items on sale are oftentimes leftover items. if they were good they would have been gone a long time ago sale or not. most of the time i've proven this. 2. for other people to appreciate how one looks one must only have a decent no. of clothing of a certain type: like 5-6 polo shirts, 5-6 pairs of shoes, 5-6 pants and so on...this would help you realize what style, colors and basic materials work for you. it may even offer you the opportunity of building up or improving a certain set of clothing from shirts to pants to bags to shoes. 3. if you're supposed to have it you'd acquire it sale or not.

Hi vingyan! I don't like shopping during sale! :) I just hate the crowd, LOL. I want to shop when it's not too crowdy, especially when I shop for clothes, I don't wanna wait up in the long line of other shoppers in the fitting room. I also don't wanna wait in a long line in the cash registry as well. Plus, it takes forever for me to shop, LOL! I always wanna take my time and really choose the right products. I don't mind the price since I'm not into buying expensive products anyway :)
