i don't think so , the match against westindies was not considered competition at all, the match against India was washed out due to rain . i should say that the match against India would have gone any way even though they had a massive score on the board ( because of the conditions in Johannesburg).the match against Pakistan was no a little bit satisfactory for the Aussies because they won on the last ball in the match that too due to akmal missing the run out ! . they actually won on the mistakes done by Pakistan rather than their own efforts. the semi-final match against sri lanka was not that satisfactory in both the batting and bowling departments . when it comes to the final , new zealand have a little bit of advantage over the Aussies in that particular ground,. Aussies never looked comfortable against any team in the champions trophy, even though they win the trophy that doesn't make them the team team in the world. they have to make the team more reliable and playable in any case or any situation.the team back in 2003 world cup was the best and they have to make efforts to make the team consistent as that one.India loosing the trophy doesn't make them weaker side. all i want to say is that winning or loosing a single tournament or cup doesn't make a team the best or the worst . it takes time for a team to become the world's number one.

Well friend, Australia was comfortably won the match against England in semi Final and the finals against the New Zeland. I agree with you that the match against India could have gone anyway. Pakistan should have won the match but they intensionally lose to them to knock out India from entering into semi finals. Anyhow, the final conclusion is Australia won the ICC Champions Trophy 2009. Any team will win only either by outplaying other team or mistakes done by other team. So, Australia do things to win the matches and they do have good team. I am sure they will be powerful team in coming days. India and South Africa have to improve in some areas and if they can do that then these two teams will trouble Australians again and again.. Only time will tell and let us see what will happen..

they have the confidence and power to again occupy their no.1 spot again. they are the champions and for years they have been ruling in the cricket game. every player have some bad times and so is the time for the ausies are going on. they would try getting their old position and the bad times for them will end soon.

Australia is a team that cannot be outplayed always and in cricket they are dominating from past 10 years after the fall of West Indies team. Even after the big names like Adam Gilchrist,Mc Grath, Shane Warne, Mathew Hayden and Justin Langer retire from both test and ODI formats everyone thought that they will struggling for while. But they have proved everyone wrong and won the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 in style and outplayed New Zealand in the Finals.. Australian cricket has good domestic circuit and good coaching technics that is why they keep on produce great players... For me England won the Ashes 2009 by luck and when ODI series came England were able to win only 1 out of 7 ODI's. In ICC Champions Trophy also no team was able to beat Australia in the whole tournament.. So, this shows that they will soon regain the Number 1 ODI spot and again dominate the World Cricket..
