Driving a car in a long travel is also very tiring I always feel sleepy during that trip. But if there are many of you it's very enjoying specially you see those new places. Thanks for the response!!!

i do have problems with motion sickness... so i tend to sleep when im travelling so i dont feel seasick or carsick... otherwise i would be throwing up all a lot and feeling dizzy and i would end up not enjoying at all... if i rest or sleep.. at least i do not have to worry about feeling odd in my stomach.

I have my cousin also has a motion sickness. And it's very uncomfortable for him to travel specially when riding a boat. He has this medicine that he take to lessen the discomfort.

I usually bring magazines with me and a book. When I get bored reading them, I sleep or stare out the window. But if you're talking about plane travel, well, plenty of planes now have tv monitors in each seat, so it has now become a matter of me wanting to sleep or to play games or watch movies on tv =)

I used to take an overnight boat from my city to another city in another island. An overnight boat is 6 hours. But I can't really sleep while travelling on a boat at night and in an economy class where you don't know the person in the next cot. I always bring with me novels to read or magazines. usually I finish two paperbacks the entire trip and a few shut-eye in between. And I also went on a one day boat trip but I had with me my classmates because we were going on a field trip. what we did was explore the boat, made friends with some crew, picture taking non-stop, talk senseless and eat and sleep and kept watch over each other. Then the next day we arrived at our destination looking haggard. LOL

A 6 hours trip is quit boring also how much more if you travel 12hrs like me. Yeah it is good to have a companion when in travel because we can kill time by just talking any topic while on board the ship. Field Trip together with your friends in a boat is so much enjoying you don't notice that you have arrive already because of much fun chatting and touring all the place in a boat.

i read if i travel by plane. if i travel by bus, i sleep with "one eye open" because i have this fear of accidents on the road. as much as possible, i don't want to sleep while on the bus because i want to be alert most of the time. to keep me from sleeping, i look at the views outside the bus as it moves ahead.

Yeah I always on alert when going to sleep when traveling because we don't really know who sleeps beside us. I usually put my things just right beside me to be sure i won't be gone when im awake.

When I have a long travel, my favorite activity is to chat with others, including my friends and those on the same plance or train. I think it's a good way to kill time. In addition, playing cards is also a good choice if I could find enough people. But to tell the truth, I really don't like long travel so I usually try some special ways to shorten it. For instance, if I have to spend ten or twelve hours on my trip by train, I will try to set off at night. Then the trip would be "shortened" to two or four hours.

I have not been to a train since birth because don't have it in our place. But I think riding a train is much more noisy than a boat. Yeah you are right that traveling at night should be considered because we are sleepy at night. And that cuts our boredom than traveling at day time where we are awake.

kryptoscode, I am usually working away on my laptop at the start of of the trip and later I would be in between inflight entertainment and reading the papers or magazines available in the flight. Then, there will be the meals and some catching up with rest before arriving at my destination. I do not bring reading materials as most of what I like are available onboard. Nowadays, on certain airlines and route I can even have my suits pressed, shoes polished, massages and even a shower before arrival. Sometimes, I just feel spoiled with these airlines and I do not blame them, it is just for the business and competition.
