I have searched the internet several times now for a site where I could make some extra money. I am not looking for a second income, but would like some extra cash for christmas shopping. Does anyone personally participate in any site that is free to join but also has a potential to earn a little extra cash? If so are they good sites? How do they work, and most importantly what are the websites url? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Amanda. There are several sites online that have excellent potential for making some extra money. The problem with online earnings is that people tend to flip back and forth from site to site, without paying enough attention to one or two sites. For example, there are good sites online if you enjoy writing articles, But, you can't just go in and expect to make anything overnight, they take time. Too many people are not willing to invest the time required to "build" up to the income. Once you have researched your online opportunities, pick just two or three that you enjoy - and then dedicate all your time to those ones. Stretching yourself to thin (joining way too many sites) will end up frustrating you no end, and making you very little money.

Since you are in US, you can try cashcrate. You fill out surveys. It is a very reliable site. The minimum payout is $20. You can make $20-40 monthly with that. When you arrive at payout, they send a check to you. With 2 or 3 active referrals, you can make $40-50 or more. If you start now (October) and get the payout amount at the end of month, they send you the check in somewhere in November 20-23rd. That's the only downside. I have been doing it for about a year. If you are interested let me know. There are couple of things you need to know before starting. I also write for ehow. But it takes a few months, to build good money. On the ehow site, there are a lot of articles to help you earn money on cashcrate. Just go to www.ehow.com and put cashcrate in the search box.

After all earning enough money from online is a heard task unless you put in sufficient time. If around $50-60 is fine for you, you can stay with mylot & you can also join myPage5. yu can reach their payout every month ($25), if you are active. Also you can reach the payout of myLot also. These are the sites where in you don't have to work so hard, but can earn some money. You can checkout my website(from my profile) & Join under me. Happy Lotting

Try chacha. I don't think they are hiring right this second, but if you do good on the test, they might offer you an expiditor role. Also west at home, is good too.

I've been working for kgb.com which is just like chacha. The only downside is it took them a good while to get back to me but they do pay. I make around $150 a month. Good luck!

I use eHow but wouldnt be something that the typical person would make enough on to pay for Christmas in only a few months. Im a newbie to this making income online too but the way i see it , it takes time to build up to anything that can generate income. I do enjoy what im doing with eHow and writing my blogs but not really something that is making alot. I wish you best of luck and im starting to worry about the up coming holidays too with the economy so tight its not going to be easy for many people.
