I found out yesterday that Europe is trying to stop illegal immigrants. The police in Calais in France has been removing illegal immigrants from the area called 'the jungle' it was area where illegal immigrants used to be. In Naples in Italy they have been giving police searches. If there are people the without correct paperwork they take them away for questioning. The ones are caught and detained. Then they are sent to Libya and put in jail like places. I guess they will be sent back but some are asylum seekers so I feel sorry for them. What do you think?

I think its a shame that any country feels it need to have borders How can the world live as one if every country has a border that they feel needs to be defended. Everyone says world peace needs to be attained but if someone not of thier country crosses there border legal or illegal that person screams then that trigger a group to scream and that triggers a bigger group to scream and so on and so on. Personally i find it offensive that any country would reject a person that seeks help, Even my own. one world separated divided and catergorized.

Illegal is illegal. it is not wrong for any country to put a stop to any illegal action taken on their land. That includes our own nation. Yes there are people in bad situations all over the world and many times it is not their fault but that does not give them the right to break the law. A couple loses their jobs cannot find new ones and breaks into your house to steal you possessions. Do you feel bad for them? DO you want them to be punished because they broke the law? It is the same thing.

It is a sad things as some becomes illegal immigrants because they went to seek works which is very much absence fro their origin country. I do hope the European government would not detain the illegal immigrants for a long time and be deported instead or at least give an amnesty to fix their documents.

hello maximax8, I hate these kind of people, most specially if there are my "own" people. why can they just do it the right way so that they won't be so much in trouble in the end. i have mixed feelings with these because i pity them for getting busted and hate them because they give a very bad reputation of the country they belong to. but it's life, probably due to desperation that they'll do anything

maximax8, this has been going on for some time now. My parents live in Mallorca, which is above Africa, and I've seen it first hand a number of times: Small boats loaded with people from the African continent trying to sneak into Spanish territory. On the one hand, I understand the need of countries to maintain the integrity of their borders. On the other, I sympathize with the plight of a people so desperate for a better life, they'll risk their lives in a small boat on a large ocean, in an attempt to achieve it. I have a few friends in the Spanish coast guard who tell me that for every boat of illegals they find, as many as 10 or 15 more are discovered empty and capsized. One can only imagine the fate of those people, many of whom are women and children (not that I'm saying the men are less worthy of sympathy, mind!).

I do feel for people in genuine situations, and I hope cases are looked at so that the illegal freeloaders are dealt with but those who genuinely need to be away from their country and are seeking help are not treated as criminals. However, illegal is illegal - and I know it is considered quite a problem in America where I live. While, again, I have compassion for anyone dealing with living in another country fro whatever reason, because it CAN be hard, I came here legally, and went through a process that only ended about 4 years after my marriage to become a permanent resident. And because of so many illegals who take advantage I am sometimes tarred with the same brush - I have actually had people telling me I am 'taking Americans jobs' and 'living off our government but giving nothing back' - no, actually, I work and pay taxes like the rest of you, and paid the very expensive fees to get my legal visa. But I think people feel this way because they have experienced people who came illegally and DO behave like that. I don't know what the solution is, as this, and England where I come from, are places of opportunity and relative safety for those who need it - but at the same time, if they are illegal they have broken laws of the lands before they even start. I am glad not to be the one to have to make the decisions on this!

I think that every country would not welcome any illegal migrants on their border. It is but a natural thing for every governments to do since eventually this migrants would become more of a liability than an asset for them.

I am not sure if I should feel sorry for them. Half of my heart goes out for them because they must be in bad shape, and that would have made them leave their birthplace in the first place. So I felt that they should be taken in. But I also feel that if they are taken in then the question is why others should not be taken in. And then there would be endless number of illegal immigrants who might have to be taken in. But that will ultimately destroy any country.

It is such a pity that it happens to them but i guess every nation has the right to stop illegal immigrants in their country. I just hope that they just sent them back to their own countries and not put them in jail. Most of these people just want to have a beautiful life in a foreign land, maybe because they can't have one in their own country.

Illegal immigrants are the problems of many European countries,America and Australia. This immigrants are going from the poor countries of Asia and Africa. Mainly for seeking jobs they are leaving their countries for uncertain destination.Rich countries can provide them. Only sympathy can solve this problem.

If they are immigrating illegally, they should be put in jail. There is a lot of it going on in the United States, too. We have a lot of Mexicans here now and some of them are not here legally, either. I didn't know this was going on in Europe as well. Thank you for telling us about this. Kathy.

I feel sorry for them as well. I know that they have a good reason for doing that. They simply just want to bring their family on a greener pasture. I do hope tho, that the European government will give some amnesty to those illegal immigrants.

Illegal immigrants is so serious in Europe countries,USA etc.Too many poor countries persones go to there for earnning monney. But,I think that the natural resources and persons distributing unfair lead to this problem. All countries work together to share the resources is the only method to resolve it.we are a family.

i dont think much but to curb on all these police have to catch the big fish behind this. a common man from any country cant do this dare. i think they are being made fool by human smuggling rackets. and the system has to curb on them and every thing will be correct on its own
