Do you comment on all the responses for your discussions?

There has been many occasions when I started a discussion and received overwhelming responses, and I am very thankful for that, but unfortunately I have not been able to comment back on all the responses. I feel kind of bad. What do you do when you start a couple of discussions and receive lots of responses? Do you take your time and comment back on all? Truthfully I get very tired sitting in front of the computer for hours. And when there are at least 30 responses per discussions. I could only manage to comment on about 20-25 of them. Any suggestions on what should I do. Should I feel bad?

Specially new members are the ones who leave short responses hopping that they will make more money by responding to more discussions. I too don't like to comment on such responses.

We are not obliged to comment on all the responses to our discussions... but if we want to keep it alive for a long time... like have a good exchange of ideas... then it is good to comment... I do that all the time... even if the responses are like close to a hundred... i don't start a lot of discussion... so i can have a lot of time to comment... and that is also a good way to earn a few extra cents here in mylot...

Hi biman_s, It is up to you actually. If you think you want to comment all or no comment at all, it is up to you. Nobody can impose anything to you. But since we are in the forum called "discussion" and not "question and answer", it is only right to comment every response that our discussion receive. People spend their time and ideas to response to our discussion, so it is our courtesy to comment it. If you discussions always receive a huge number of responses, I suggest you to only started one or two discussion at a time. Usually people who start a lot of discussion at a time always have this type of problem. They keep posting a new discussion even though their previous discussions left unattended. Some members here also don't like to see their response without any comment at it from the discussion starter. They will never cam back to these person discussion anymore.

I know no can impose anything but I think I should try to reply back to every response. But when you have more than 40 or 50 responses than it makes me very tired. I also respond to other discussions started by my friends.

Well lucky you. I have made a few discussions and none has exceeded 15 posts. I have answered every one who did post on my topics. As i am the one who create the discussion i think its natural to do so. Although i understand what you are saying, and no, i dont think you should feel bad. Just try your best to respond to everyone

I currently have a discussion http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2148933.aspx which has crossed 50 response mark. I have tried to respond back to every post. I was sick for the past two days so I couldn't comment during that period.

Look biman, Every activity here in mylot counts. You respond, you comment back, you start discussions or write on the task. So commenting is a peat of the discussion. Of late I have become a bit lazy in commenting back but so far I am able to do so i do comment back. Just reflect if you do not comment back what would be the worth of the discussion?

So I guess I will just take some more time and comment back, even if it 2-3 days.

Hi binman, if you really don't want to comment back to a lot of responses then probably you would be happier responding to others discussoins. I do respond to all responses I receive as I think it is rude not to. You also only earn from the discussions you start by commenting on it and making it into a discussion. Many posters will stop responding to someone who does not respond back whereas there are many who it will not influence.

I think I will take it into consideration and make it a goal to comment on each of the responses.

I also do not get time to comment on every ones reply as i would be on here for hours on end.I tend to start a discussion and then reply to other peoples discussion.I do however read all the responses that i get but i never have time to reply to them.

When i was new to mylotting i did not know that we had to respond to the mylotter who has responded to our post. Later my daughter told me that it is not good if we do not respond to our response. Moreover i also learnt that we are paid for our responses and reply for the response we get for our discussion. Nowadays i answer all the reponses four or five at a time so that all the responses are replied.

I always tried to reply to all responses i receive from my discussions. I guess we are obliged to comment back,we started the topic,so,i guess we have to comment back as a sign of appreciation for the respondents. You can also give rating if you really feel tired answering back, that the best and less task you can do my friend.

I had a discussion which had zero responses, mainly because the topic was not something to which everyone can relate. This is why you need to put in a lot of thought before starting a discussion. Thanks for responding.
