Yes, i think it is not our indonesia media that make a quick conclusion, because it is a big generallization. I think only a certain tv station that do that thing you say. Metro TV always say suspected, while the other ( it competitor ), is confidence enought to make it own conclusion. It is sad just to gain rating, some people dare to publish something that still not certain.

I watch the news, and the metro tv said, they it is suspected to be SJ and syahrer. I watch it at 4 or 5 pm, in the office. I heard it, and most of my friend whose see the news heard it. They said it to be SJ and syahrer after they got the confirmation from the police.

news papers and news tv programs are money making enterprise. They tend to sensationalize news to boost their sales. Some are even using attention getting headlines to attract people and eventually buy. It is also a known fact that some are being used by politicians and people in authority. That's why they convict people in the minds of the masses before cases go to court, trial by publication, that is. cheers!

Yes i agree with you. The largest 2 News Chanel in Indonesia is actually owned By Suryo Paloh ( Metro TV ), and Abdul Rizal Bakrie ( TV One ). And the funny thing happened when the 2 of them actually competing for Golkar Leadership. Those Two TV tend to take sides. Metro TV take side on Suryo Paloh and TV One takes side Bakries. Well, at least that what i c.

Hi,adhyz,The behaveour of media not constrained to your country only, their acts are common in any country.Yellow journalism we have to protest.Nedia also devided into pro government and against governments. In India, the media people get bribes for cover the news and for not cover the news. This is increasing every where.I prefer sencor the news by government before they announce or some restiction on medis. Have a nice time.

I think sensationalism being the order of the day, the media tends to over react to stories and pass on half baked information to the public. They do not stop to think that in these days of globalisation the impact of any news is internationally far reaching and not confined to a small area and could cause immense damage anywhere in the world where people might react in a manner unwarranted. The Media's responsibilities have increased manifold with telecommunications reaching a new high and they should be careful what they serve up to the public.
