This info was sent to me by a friend. i couldnt resist sending it here. hope its not deleted. i cant think of any reason. its just the cutest and saddest thing I've seen in a while. its about the fires in California. T he Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara, CA? This year caused these two to take shelter together. The fawn is about 3 days old and the bobcat about 3 weeks. They immediately bonded and snuggled together under a desk in the Santa Barbara County Dispatch Office for several hours. Animal Planet is reporting the bobcat kitten was rescued near Arnold Schwarzenegger's ranch, where it was dehydrated and near death. They rescued the fawn during the wildfire. Although wild animals, especially of separate species, are never placed together due to regulations, in this emergency situation, they had no choice. During the mayhem of the fire, they were forced to put animals anywhere they could, Since they had run out of crates large enough for the fawn. The kitten ran to the fawn, and it was instant bonding isnt this the sweetest thing?

Hello kitty! I agree with you that some people can learn from these animals. They bonded when things got rough no matter what their differences are. If people would do this, especially now in times of crisis, they would stand a better chance of surviving. But the sad truth is that some people would never look beyond each other's differences.

yes, it would be wonderful and the world might stand a chance if humans could be the same with each other.

Very often we find news of wildfires in California. United States is one of the most developed countries of the world. Why this kind of tragic incident occurs in a country like America? Is it only natural disaster? Or negligence of concerned authority!

in most areas its because of very dry weather and/or someone is careless with their fire. there are places i believe in california that is so dry it can occur as natural combustion to the heat maybe.also sometimes BEFORE it starts to rain lightning im heard can start a fire in the dry wilds. they do all they can to fight it but sometimes it doesnt work until much land and wildlife is burned.

oh yes, this is so cute and shows how in times of distress, even animals forget about their differences and take care of each other. Being herbivores and carnivores, its usual that they took to liking each other but I guess they understood the seriousness of the situation and made the best of it. LOL Maybe we humans could learn something from them.

Hi bunnybon, I agree that it is very cute and sad at the same time. It does show though that very young animals like humans, don't realize a difference until they are taught. Blessings.

Too cute! Someone said something about prey. I seriously doubt deer is in the bobcat diet. Bobcats don't get very big. They are more likely to go after rodents, rabbits and the like. Not to say a bobcat wouldn't try if hungry enough. But it's true that babies know no prejudice.

I saw this picture and the story on the news headlines here in Australia. If only humans could learn a lesson from them. We have differences, but we should be able to bond in spite of those differences. Maybe their age has something to do with it? Children seem able to accept differences better than we older ones do.

aaawww...I had not heard this, but went online and looked it up after I read this. I agree with you that this is the sweetest thing I've heard this week! I guess the baby cat doesn't realize yet that the fawn is prey. They don't usually start pouncing and learning to hunt until they're about 3-4 months old. I didn't see anything about either of their mothers, did you?

That is the sweetest thing! Babies have no idea what discrimination is and this is proof that it is taught by the parents. If only we are taught to love one another we could all grow up and not see race but see the person as they are, human beings. This is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing it with us!

hi bunnygon oh this was so sweet and so cute. This reminded' me of the most frightening and sad thing two years ago in the big wild fire around Tustin Ca . I looked out and coming down the middle of the street, really running in fear were four adult deer with singed coats, and the air was grey with smoke and particles of ash. The park rangers had to round those scared deer up and take them to the nearest forest that was not in flames, which many were that fall. the air was so bad we had to close out windows and turn on the air conditioning just to be able to breathe without choking. those poor deer, I will never forget' that sight. they were burned and running in desperation.

Hi bunnybon7, That picture just melts my heart but it makes me so angry about these fires, I know a lot of humans lives had to lost and ruined but its the animals that my heart bleeds for and if it was started by someone, then I hope they be caught and punished. Thanks for the beautiful photo. Tamara

It IS beautiful. And it´s sad too because they will have to be separated as soon as possible before they discover than they are not supposed to be friends. But we must not wish that the world take a turn. It´s the best way in spite of the cruelty of it all.

i've come to that conclusion. that its how we are meant to be on earth until after the end.
