Last week was the max. I think I got at least five different mailings with address labels enclosed and I have a ton of them already. They of course want a small donation for them...but I am sick of getting them! That along with free Christmas cards and note pads! I am not sending a small donation to all of them! If I did it would break the bank! Are you getting more of these lately? Do you have enough to last for 10 years like I do? Do you think they could come up with something more origional?

I'm not getting that many, but I do still have a lot of them. More than I will be able to use in a long, long time!

The sad part is that when you have a computer you can make your own.....they should either out right ask for a donation....or find something new!

You can, but they're not all that cheap to do. I used to do them, but once I started getting the free ones I stopped.

I get so many address labels in the mail. My husband doesn't get any. I must be on someone's junk mail list. Never got any greeting cards or note pads though. Most people don't need them. Everyone I know pays their bills online.

Yeah.....so what's the point of sending all those labels!

We get tons too and I give the donation paperwork to my husband. He can do what he wants with it. Some are tax deductible, I think. I have enough labels to label a wall. Might be the start of a new trend to have address labels all over a wall. Someone comes to visit and they know they are in the right house!

Another option would be to plaster them all over my car. Then everyone would know who is driving and to get out of the way!

I really don't get too many of that type of thing. In fact i have had to order them a time or two & pay for them. They are just so handy to have especially if they are free. lol. Guess i don't donate to enough things to get them. I could use donations myself, lol.

Hi jillhill, I must say one of the benefits of living in Greece is I have yet to receive a single piece of junk mail, with or without enclousures or any description at all. I don't really suppose that they would ever think of sending me address labels anyway as I don't have an address, as does no one else, it may sound strange but it works, and certainly deters all manner of junk.

You don't have an address? Please explain!

Well it's pretty self explanatory really, I actually don't have an address, no house number or name, no street name, just the name of the village. There is an arrangement with the postman on how to collect mail.

It's very simple really, take a sharp left at the end of the olive tree belonging to Takis, then the next left at the olive tree beloning to Tasos, then a sharp left at the olive tree belonging to stavros, mind the pot holes, etc etc. I can't imagine why more people don't use olive trees rather than numbers, so much easier.

i have never got any such mail..and i hope i don't get any. although sometimes individuals generally approach homes for donations (complete with receipt books and ids). but then i do not give any. most of them are frauds and simply pocket the money and there is no benefit to those who are actually in need.

Well, when we lived in the Condo I from time to time would receive things like this from time to time, but since we just moved into our New house we just bought we have no Address labels at this time. But since we pay most of our Bills online now, and do most of our letters, etc. by Email or call people on our Cell phone it would take forever to use very many labels anymore as well. Maybe there is a way you could get removed from these mailing lists that send this stuff?

I am going to start by not sending them any donation..if that doesn't work I'll write return to sender on the front of the envelope and drop them back into the mailbox!

I think we must have gotten on a list! I also have heard that the charity gets very little from all this.....most goes to pay wages and for the expense of making the labels!

We use to get them and don't anymore and I don't know why. Now the only ones we have are the onesthat come inside our check books or the ones we order. (We havn't ordered in years)got a chuckle out of some of the comments.

I gave some money to the American Veterans charity several years ago, and they have sent me address labels each year after. The only problem is, I don't live at the address those labels have on them. The labels have the address of my parents when I used to live with them. So they aren't even useful!

hi oh Jillhill oh yes indeed,I have a drawer full of them, so am using them now to give old friends my new address and to use up my checks with the old addy I just put one address label over the wrong address and am set to use it. I am finding some ways to use some of them and also stick them on some of my belongings here too so the care givers do not put my stuff in my roommates things It does help a bit ,but I still have a lot more to go.what do I do with the rest, I wonder? I made the error of making a small donation to the vets of foreign wars and now I get address labels from them too and from American Diabetes Assoc. plus easter seal thingies. just too too many. help.

For sure! We must be on some list.....I won't be sending donations anymore so hope that helps cut down on them...I might enlist some of your ways of using them!

No we do not get anything free through the mail. I would love to have address labels though. That would be so great. Not everyone has an drress out her so mail is sent to the local post office and they collect their mail from There. Nothing free though. It is hard even to get a diary out of the bank at Christmas - last year I received a CHEAP PEN!

That made me laugh, because I too have so many I could open a shop selling them now...lol I'm sure many of them are worthy causes but I do not have any money spare for anything right now, so no one is getting anything! I rarely actually use the things so I am sure there are lots lurking in drawers around the place. My husband and I were just talking tonight about charities asking for money by mail or phone. Again, I am not knocking the charities themselves but the phone calls can sometimes get a bit much.

Hi jillhill. We must be on some of the same mailing lists. At least twice a week I get get mailing labels in my mailbox. You would think i was collecting mailing labels. they could honestly come up with something else to clog up our mailboxes. How many mailing label companies do we need anyway?
