Or around the area where You Live? Usually,I just get the Neighbourhood cats sunning themselves in my Back Garden, and I can see the various birds that nest in the trees around Me and in the hedges feeding there too, when they're not being stalked by the cats, like sparrows, finches,Magpies,or crows.....I've encountered field mice,A hedgehog once, frogs(!),and I've Seen Badgers,Foxes, and some kind of a weasel running along the road at night..Out on a boat on Lough Erne (The Major Lake in County Fermanagh where I Live) I've seen Herons,Cormorants, and Even a Kingfisher...How about You?

Hiya again, We just found a stray Puppy soaking wet and very frightened by the Train that goes by there. We went into the Cafeteria and asked if it was anybodys Dog as it was terribly cold and wet. Three Hunters went out to have a look at him and they have already adopted him we know these People so they will look after him really well and will fit in with them as he is basically a Hunting Dog. My heart bled for him only Five months old no collar or chain or anything but we helped find him an instant home.

Hiya ShepherdSpy, We usually have two cheeky Blackbirds take up their Residence here but not all the time next Door Neighbours Cat and lot´s of Spiders who like to fill up the Flat with never ending Cobwebs.!!! I clean loads of Cobwebs every week but I hate killing Spiders yesterday managed to persuade one to go back to the Garden on the end of my Broom she was and she hopped it pretty quick too.

Hiya ShepherdSpy, I love Robins but there are none to be seen around here I would have to go further out into the Countryside to find them. However the Blackbirds are here in abundance and I love their beautiful Song. Spanish Blackbird does not start singing till about eleven or half past eleven in the Morning where as the English Blackbird sings really early in the Morning and about four o´clock in the Afternoon. No I´m not a Bird expert I´ve just happened to be there when they were the Blackbirds I mean.

We have a gopher who has moved huge rocks to get into the garden, to get to the rocks he burrowed under a 2 car garage. We have deer who eat everything we plant. We have foxes and of course, cats and dogs and birds. ANd bats. They have gotten into my house far to many times. We have beavers and frogs. We are a regular wildlife refuge and not always by choice.

I don't mind Meeces,so long as I can catch them, and I consider bats to be flying meeces..last time one got into the kitchen,I was able to catch the little beggar when it started crawling on the floor and took it outside to let it fly off..They're protected here,apparently..I don't like the thought of gophers being able to burrow under your house! Ireland no longer has Native Deer left..any that are here now are in wildlife preserves, and one that I know of has Japanese Sika Deer in it..

Where I live, there are TONSSSS of squirrels. Occasionally there's a raccoon or stray cats. As for birds, there are quite a few sparrows, some doves and these weird black and white birds. I saw a fox the other day, too. It was the first time I'd seen one in the area.

I forgot to mention Squirrels! I have yet to see one in my garden, though I don't put out any food for the birds..I have seen a Red Squirrel, but most recently,it was a grey one I saw..

Hi SherherdSpy, do you really want to know some of the things I've encounterd here, if I may I'll extend beyond the olive grove into the dirt track which leads down to tarmac. Along said dirt track I have encountered piglets, donkeys, cows with their legs tied together, pole cats - but only at nights, foxes, SNAKES in plenty, cats, wild dogs, hedgehogs, tortoises, lizards, gekos, birds, lost tourists, thousands of insects. I've bound to have missed something. I like the tortoises.

Heck,Lost tourists goes without saying We don't have any snakes around here..Occasionally,the Sheep hereabouts will stage a Jailbreak from their fields and create roadblocks..I've helped a local farmer round them up one time, and he sat in on my passenger seat with the door open going along the road to help him catch up with them..Another time, there's a Local Speciality Ice cream company that manage their own herd of jersey cows for their extra creamy Milk..Going home one night,I saw one of their calfs loose on the road..I went up to the farm to let them Know..

AAAH, how could I possibly have forgotten the sheep and the goats. There aren't as many these days but when I first moved here an ancient shepherdess used to bring hundreds of them down the dirt track every day and often used to knock on the door for a coffee but she always refused to come inside as preferred to sit on the high terrace to see what the goats were up to. She was well over 80 and used to appear most days, a cheerful wellie clad figure. She had done well by her family for an old peasant sheperdess, she had four grown children who had each been to university. I haven't seen her for a while now as some of the expats complained about the goats eating their gardens.

I live in Italy, in a medium-sized city in the north. What kind of wildlife can be found in my garden ? well I'd say magpies, swallows, hedgehogs (I grew up some of them that were left alone and were just little babies eheh), some small country mices and that's all I guess. Unless you want to count my tortoises in as well :D

Did You buy the Tortoise,or did it get in there on its own? Does it Live in the Garden,or does it come indoors too?
