Hmm, considering I'm going to estimate thats about 400-600 CAD. Assuming you're going to do a little bit of gaming, but really, it depends on what you use the computer for. If you're just the average student and all you do is research and word process, get a low end laptop. If you game a bit this would be nice Get a Dual Core ~150 Get Geforce 9800GT ~100 Coolmaster 500W ~70 Asus P5Qe Mobo - 100~ Atx Case ~50 2 Gb kingston ram + 500 gb harddrive ~75

What kind of computer are you thinking for. If you want a computer for basic needs then, you should go for dell, you can customize it online and at an affordable price. But if you are planning for max ccustom built laptop for high-end performance i recommend u to build your desktop rather than to buy from company as gaming desktops are very expensive. What u need is 1. Core i7/ core 2 quad cpu 2. a compatible motherboard 3. 4 gb DDRx RAM 4. 512/1 GB GRAPHIC CARD FROM PREFERABLY NVIDIA 5. 500 GB hard disk 6. Blu-ray drive (if u want)

what features do you want in the desktop is the most important thing. I am personally doing away with desktop computers except for using one for a file server in my home. other than that I am going strickly with a laptop

Why don't you buy a laptop. I think you can get a good one in this price range, and why not a mac book, or a dell..
